Author Description

绫辻行人，一九六〇年十二月二十三日出生于日本京都，毕业于名校京都大学教育系。在校期间加入了推理小说研究会社团，社团的其他成员还包括法月纶太郎、我孙子武丸、小野不由美等。而创作了《十二国记》的小野不由美在后来成为了绫辻行人的妻子。
二十世纪八十年代是日本推理文学的大变革年代。极力主张“复兴本格”的大师岛田庄司曾多次来到京都大学进行演讲和指导，传播自己的创作理念。绫辻行人作为当时推理社团的骨干，深深收到岛田庄司的影响和启发，不遗余力地投入到新派本格小说的创作当中。
一九八七年，经过岛田庄司的修订和引荐，绫辻行人发表了处女作《十角馆事件》。他的笔名“绫辻行人”是与岛田庄司商讨过后确定下来的，而作品中的侦探“岛田洁”的原型也来自岛田庄司和他笔下的名侦探“御手洗洁”。以这部作品的发表为标志，日本推理文学进入了全新的“新本格时代”，而一九八七年也被称为“新本格元年”。
其后，绫辻行人陆续发表“馆系列”作品，截止到二〇一二年已经出版了九部。其中，《钟表馆事件》获得了第四十五届推理作家协会奖，《暗黑馆事件》则被誉为“新五大奇书”之一。“馆系列”奠定了绫辻行人宗师级地位，使其成为可以比肩江户川乱步、横沟正史、松本清张和岛田庄司的划时代推理作家。

因热伤风恶化而待在家里的岛田收到了一本书。
薰衣草紫、丁香紫、兰花紫??虽然想出好几种颜色，却不知道哪一个最准确，总之是个浅紫色的封面。
这是本所谓“新书判”规格的书。封面中央是一个与周围颜色相同、呈四十五度角倾斜的投影框。框中有一张照片，在会让人联想到血海的深红色背景上，孤零零地浮起一个黑色的水牛头。
相框右上方以浮雕式样印着书的标题。相框左侧，同样以浮雕式样印着作者的名字。

听说现在已经到了小说卖不掉的时代，不过推理小说这种类型的作品到了市场上还可以确保占有一定程度的份额，而且从这几年来书店里各出版社的小说数量上看——
太多了，内容却令人摸不着头脑——老实说，这些书只会给人带来诸如此类的感想。粗制滥造的后果，是让读者因失望而放弃推理小说。不过这只是别人的事情，自己居然还对此表示担心。
看了看封底。
封底印着作者的近照以及简介，岛田觉得照片拍得不太好。
拥有复杂迷宫的地下宅邸“迷宫馆”——当聚集于此的四位推理作家以这个馆为舞台，开始创作小说的时候，惨剧的序幕揭开了！

岛田不由得苦笑起来。
唉，对这种恐怕是由责任编辑撰写的、夸大其词的“内容简介”，作者本人究竟会用什么心情去看待呢？
如果平日在书店看到这种书，他只会拿起来翻翻，绝对不会买。他并不讨厌推理小说，而且是国外作品的粉丝；偶尔心血来潮阅读的国内推理作品，总是辜负了他的期待，只好放弃。
但——
如果是自己熟识的人写的书，当然得另当别论。更何况这是作者亲自送来的书，不能不看吧。而且，书中谈的是那桩“迷宫馆事件”。
他钻进被子，保持俯卧姿势。
在昨天夜里，烧已经退了，但各个关节还在隐隐作痛，正感到有点无聊。这么几百页的话，大概花两三个小时就能读完。
他把枕头垫在下巴底下，开始翻书。
先看看目录，再通览全书。
最后看到书末的“后记”。他按一直以来的阅读习惯，在看正文前先看后记。
后记
本来这段文章应该放在全书开头，但想到读完正文再读后记的读者少得惊人，姑且还是把它移到卷末。因此，请把它当做写给尚未阅读正文的读者的“开场白”。
这部作品以“小说”的形式来发表，对此我至今仍然感到有点犹豫，因为看到本书书名“迷宫馆事件”后，或许会有读者立即察觉到它是以真实的某起杀人事件为题材创作出来的。
一九八七年四月所发生的案件——与小说中的日期相同——著名作家居住的奇妙宅邸中发生的离奇事件，经过媒体的渲染，变成了轰动一时的大新闻。
然而到了最后，大家都认为媒体没有掌握这起事件的全貌。
这也情有可原，那起事件是在某种非常特殊的情况下发生的，而了解真实状况的相关人士也没有作出回应。警方对如此异常的事件感到十分困惑，虽然认可了某种表面上的“真相”，但也没有积极对外公布。结果，媒体也只能基于警方含糊其词的声明予以报道，草草了事。
各位读者可能会认为，我只不过是摆出一副亲眼目睹的样子，在信口开河吧？
既然事件的相关人士都摆出沉默的姿态，为什么你还能以这起事件为题材写书呢？读者大概会这么想。
坦白告诉各位吧。
我是亲眼目睹了那起事件的人。鄙人，鹿谷门实，是一九八七年四月迷宫馆内发生的连环杀人案的相关人士之一。
这次，我决心用这种方式把那起事件的经过发表出来，大体上说有两个理由。
第一个理由，是编辑某君的热心建议。
另一个理由，这么说吧，是对在那起事件中死去的“他们”产生了追悼的念头。
尽管这样说有点不好意思，但至少“他们”之中的某个人，对推理小说这种畸形文学的确怀有无比的热爱，也投入了极大的热情，我对此深信不疑。于是我想，用这种方式对事件进行“推理小说式再现”，是献给死者最好的祭品。
以上是作者自己的事情，不过对大部分读者来说，应该无关紧要吧？
不管事件有多么复杂的前因后果，充其量“不过是推理小说罢了”。对读者来说，这毕竟只是一部用来排遣平日无聊的娱乐小说。当然，我觉得这种看法没有任何问题；要是不当娱乐小说看，我还会感到为难呢。
最后——
鉴于这部“小说”中出现的人名、地名等专有名词大半都采用了化名，所以在这里不得不清楚写明这一点。这么说来，我也摆出一副若无其事的样子在小说中登场了，但并不以笔名“鹿谷门实”出现。
在所有相关人士当中，谁是鹿谷门实呢？
大概会有对此感兴趣的读者吧，但我觉得还是不说为妙。
