脸面是一个人的招牌，是形象的代言，孩子不爱洗脸不是一个好习惯。在蒙台梭利教育中，有教家长怎样循序渐进地引导儿童爱上洗脸，养成正确洗脸的好习惯等方面的内容。
孩子不爱洗脸，甚至是拒绝洗脸，有很多原因。如洗脸水过烫或过凉，让宝宝感到不舒服，他们就不爱往脸盆前凑。有的爸妈下手较重，一张大手在孩子脸上擦来蹭去，弄疼了宝宝，当然他们要反抗了。还有呛过水、毛巾粗硬等，都是宝宝拒绝洗脸的原因。
宝宝小脸脏兮兮地出门，除了遭人笑话外，还有健康的隐患。他们在玩耍时，并不会像大人那样考虑卫生的问题，有时还故意把脸贴在满是灰尘的玻璃上，去感觉那份亲密的接触。在玩捉迷藏时，往满是灰尘的墙角里钻，手刚抓过脏东西，就去伸手抹脸上的汗。孩子娇嫩的肌肤往往就这样被“污染”了，如果不及时清洗，那些到处找机会的病菌就会大肆乘虚而入。所以，养成爱清洁的好习惯非常重要。
许多爸妈都知道清洁的重要性，只是对不爱洗脸的孩子往往没有耐心，大都像亮亮妈妈那样采取强制措施，把孩子拖过来，一手按着他的小脑袋，另一只手在脸盆和孩子脸上来回忙活。孩子在这粗暴的胁迫下，肯定会大哭大叫，心烦气躁。结果脸是洗过了，很快又被泪痕“污染”。这种强制性的洗脸方式会令孩子产生恐惧感。因为孩子在洗脸时，需要弯腰把头向前伸，脸向下对着水盆，孩子会感到呼吸困难，这样的姿势就是大人也不舒服，何况孩子了。所以，爸妈不能强行要求宝宝配合，完全不顾宝宝的心理感受，觉得洗个脸就是几分钟的事情，将就一下就过去了。这样不仅不能让宝宝学会正确的洗脸方法，还容易对宝宝造成直接或潜在的心理伤害。
