《心理学研究方法（第2版）》大致可以划分为两大类：一类是客观的统计归纳，另一类是主观的诠释演绎。作为一本导论性质的教材，我们根据心理学的传统和当代的主要研究取向，大多数章节阐述的是客观的统计归纳方法，另外也有一些章节（如第三章、第八章第三节、第九章）涉及主观的诠释演绎方法。按照目前《心理学研究方法（第2版）》教科书所公认的一般原理、技术技巧、程序指导等，我们简明扼要地论述了心理学的研究基础、研究设计、统计分析及研究的综合与交流等基本内容。《心理学研究方法（第2版）》自2005年出版以来，得到了广大教师和学生的认可，很多高校都把它作为本科生的“心理学研究方法”课程教材或参考书；2008年被批准为“普通高等教育‘十一五’国家级规划教材”。
Author Description

黄希庭（1937-），西南大学资深教授、博士生导师，首届国家级教学名师奖获得者。现任校学术委员会和学位委员会副主任，国家重点学科西南大学基础心理学学术带头人，曾任中国心理学会第七届和第八届副理事长兼教学工作委员会主任，国务院学位委员会第五届心理学学科评议组召集人，全国博士后管委会第六届专家组成员教育学组召集人。已出版教材、专著、译著50余部，发表学术论文300余篇。有四本教材获教育部高等学校优秀教材一、二等奖，两项科研成果获教育部中国高校人文社会科学研究优秀成果一、二等奖。被国务院授予“全国先进工作者”称号，被重庆市委、市政府授予“重庆直辖10年建设功臣”称号。
张志杰（1973-），博士，河北师范大学教育学院教授。已合著。合译著作5部，发表学术论文40余篇。主要从事时间认知以及时间维度上的个体差异研究。

科学心理学的目的在于理解人们的所思所行。然而，要理解人们的所思所行，就必须运用科学的心理学研究方法。虽然“研究”并不陌生，但人们对研究的理解却各不相同。研究一词最初来源于英语词汇research，意思是运用科学方法，以解答问题或验证假设的历程。科学方法的含义是指一套系统化的过程或步骤，心理学研究方法则是指收集与分析心理学资料的方式或手段，在整个心理学研究中有着举足轻重的作用。
本书第一编“心理学研究基础”的目的在于为其他章节的论述打下基础，第一章“心理学与科学”将讨论心理学的性质和科学研究的主要特征以及心理学研究中涉及的伦理问题。第二章“选题与取样”的内容包括心理学研究课题的来源，选题的原则和怎样查阅研究文献，还包括取样的技术。为了增加对事物的了解，科学家们试图发掘变量之间的相互关系模式，这种关系常常呈现为因果关系。所以第三章“假设与解释”将讨论如何提出假设和检验假设，各种研究设计中的概念和变量的类型，以及研究中的各种范型。第四章“测量”是第三章的延伸，一旦我们确定了术语的定义，接着就要测量术语所涉及的内容。心理学家为收集信息和提供理论解释提供了大量完备的技术，测量就是其中之一。这一章将讨论测量的层次、测量的效度和信度问题以及测量中存在的误差。这些论述为后面章节的分析技巧提供了理论基础。总括而言，本编提供了心理学研究的一些基本概念。在读完第一编后，就应该准备学习心理学研究的具体方法了。
