1.身体是心灵的镜子
湖南某媒体曾报道过一个新闻，娄底有一位62岁的老人，冬天要穿38件上衣和11条裤子御寒，但还是冷得要生两个炉子烤火。
怎么会这样？这位叫王少光的退休教师说，他变得特别怕冷是从1992年开始的。那年妻子遭遇车祸去世，此后他的体质开始变差，常感冒，衣服因此越穿越多。近两年，夏天他都要穿10件衣服和多条裤子，而冬天更是要穿几十件衣服，但还是冷。
很可能，这是心冷。最爱的妻子突然过世，丢下自己形单影只度日，这样子心太冷了，任谁都不能替代那个人，令自己的心变暖。心灵的这种状况映照在身体上，便出现了无论穿多少件衣服都不能变暖的怪现象。
对于这样的冷，我也略有体会。
一天，我穿得厚厚的出门，发现与天气并不匹配，好像自己到哪里都是穿得最多的一个，但却仍然觉得冷，忍不住发抖。
“你病了？”朋友问。“应该没有！”我回答。
我猜我没有病，我想身体的这种冷，源自心冷，源自那一天笼罩在心头的孤独的冷。
意识上不能沟通，就用身体沟通
身体是心灵的镜子。这个道理，我在太多故事中看到。
一个深圳的男孩，高考发挥失常，没能如愿考上北大、清华这样的名校。最后，他被父母送到了东北读书。他想读广州的中山大学、暨南大学或华南理工大学，但父母不同意，他们的理由是：他从来没离开过家，从来没吃过苦，就去冰天雪地的东北锻炼一下吧。
结果，他在东北那所大学严重不适应。短短的一学期，他瘦了几十斤，经常肚子疼，会疼得流下汗来，还莫名其妙地摔了腿，骨折了。妈妈心疼他，去东北带他到当地最好的医院检查，却检查不出肚子疼的缘由来。医生还说，照他当时摔跤的程度，骨折按说也是不该发生的。
在我看来，瘦几十斤、肚子疼和骨折，都是他心灵深处的反映。
因为在东北，不只是天冷，心也冷。
首先，他的好友差不多都在南方读书，仅有几个在北方的，也集中在北京，这让他感到异常孤独。
其次，他不能接受自己的“失败”。他认为，自己应该去北大、清华的，东北的那所大学尽管也不错，但比北大、清华差了两个档次，他认为配不上自己，所以他根本不愿意去适应这所学校的生活。
最后，他觉得自己被抛弃了。高考报志愿时，他的父母没有征求他的意见，强行给他填报了这所大学，而且明确地对他说，以前他们对他太溺爱，他该去过一下独立的、有挑战的生活。这让他觉得自己既被父母否定了，又被抛弃了。
这三个原因加在一起，令他在那所大学度日如年。他不能接受那所大学的一切，从老师到同学，从宿舍卫生到食堂水平……
于是，他一到那所学校，便对父母说，他在那里待不下去，他想转学，想回到南方去，不然复读也可以。
但是，他的父母丝毫没有理会他的这一呼声，反而嘲讽他说：“这么一点苦都受不了，你就这么没出息？”
从那以后，他不再对父母讲他想回去，甚至他可能都不再对自己这样
讲，他强迫自己在那所学校待下去，做一个父母眼中有出息的孩子。然而，这只是他意识上的努力，他的潜意识仍然执着于回去，仍然拒绝融入那所学校。
于是，在潜意识的指挥下，他讨厌那所学校的饮食，吃得很少，很快瘦了下去。同样在潜意识的指挥下，他经常肚子疼，他莫名其妙地把腿摔骨折了。
他不再和父母说回去的念头，但他会和父母说这些明显的事实：他瘦了，他肚子疼，他骨折了……
通过这些事实，他在表达一个信息：我都这么惨了，你们还不让我回去，你们还爱不爱我，你们还是称职的父母吗？
本来，他想和父母沟通，用语言来表达这个信息，但父母不允许，无奈之下，他只好改用身体来传递这个信息。
癌细胞或是被压抑的情绪
这种现象并不罕见，当我们心中升起某种情绪或某种念头时，我们常不愿意接受它们，并试图压制它们，这种压制常常成功，我们果真意识不到它们的存在了。
然而，它们并未消失，只是被压制到潜意识中去了。并且，它们还一定会寻求自己独特的表达方式。而通过身体来表达，是最常见的方式。
一个男孩，工作很不顺利，常被人批评，他没学会应对这种批评，也不愿意去直面自己的失败，于是他想逃避，他把工作不顺利的细节和别人批评他的刺耳语言全忘了。
但是，以前从不梦游的他开始了梦游。他睡着睡着会突然从床上坐起来，说一些发泄性的话，接着会在宿舍里晃悠，盯着宿舍里的工友看，把他们吓得半死。
意识上，他努力忘记这些不愉快的事，努力压制自己的愤怒，但梦游状态表明，这些事他并未忘记，他的愤怒也并未消失。
一位成功人士，具有非凡的控制能力，他会把自己的每一分钟都安排得合情合理、满满当当，每天像钟表一样控制着自己的节奏，但晚上，他也会梦游。
他以为，自己可以操控一切，而梦游这种失控状态则告诉他，他其实做不到这一点，试图操控一切只是妄想而已。
身体的健康，不是想追求就能追求到的，也不能仅在身体层面上追求，因为心灵和身体是相互呼应的，真正的健康应当做到心灵和身体的和谐。
据我的医生朋友说，癌症病人多有一个共同特点：特别压抑自己某一方面的情绪。这种情绪可能是愤怒，可能是悲伤，可能是内疚，也可能是其他情绪。
我想，这或许是这样的道理：某种重要的情绪产生了，你拒绝接受，绝对地拒绝接受，并把它极力压制到潜意识中去，你成功了，你似乎不再受这一情绪的困扰。然而，这一被压制的情绪通过身体表达了出来。或许，癌细胞便是身体对这一被彻底压制的情绪的表达。
脊椎病或象征着过度的负担
我认识的几个心理医生的身体有了问题，且都是脊椎的问题，有的是颈椎，有的是腰椎，并且其中两名心理医生很年轻，一名三十多岁，一名不到三十岁。脊椎问题有强烈的象征意义：他们帮来访者承担了太多的东西，这些东西压垮了他们。
我把这个观点说出来，他们都赞同。他们知道自己真的很累，因为身体无数次地传递过这种信号，但他们还是忍不住想为别人承担，因为他们认为那是自己职业的使命。
这听起来挺伟大，但这是意识与潜意识的分裂。潜意识一再表达对过度承担别人问题的不满，而他们在意识上拒绝重视这一信息，最终这一信息只好通过身体来表达。
其实，如果深入探讨的话，这种替别人承担问题的做法也称不上伟大。
美国心理学家斯考特·派克说，我们不能剥夺别人从受苦中获益的权利。这种想法的境界要更高。
派克的意思是，每个人都会在受挫中成长，这是极大的获益，如果心理医生替来访者承担问题，那就剥夺了来访者通过自己解决这一问题而获得成长的机会，所以这称不上伟大。
甚至，这种做法可以说是一种自私。替别人承担问题，这会令自己获得一种价值感。若心理医生在咨询室中追求这种价值感，他便在一定程度上阻碍了病人的自我发展。
身与心的呼应，这一点在现代医学上得到了充分重视。现代医学越来越强调心理、生理和社会的统一，强调不能只从生理的角度看身体健康，还要从心理和社会的角度去看身体健康。
譬如，我们都知道，各种各样的溃疡多和心理压力有关，而心脏病也和多种心理因素密切相关。
对于怕冷的王少光老人，这一点也适用。娄底一家医院的医生说，他可能是血糖低或结核病，也可能是心理问题。
如果综合地看，这自然首先是生理问题，因为他是实实在在地怕冷，他的身体有很真实的反映。但这也是心理问题，是心冷，是孤独的冷。同时，这也是社会问题，他挚爱的妻子过世了，他的社会支持系统遭受了重创。
所以，我们不能单纯从生理的角度追求健康，还必须学会聆听并尊重心灵深处的声音。

Introduction

序回归身体，生命真的可以是自由的
肉麻，这个词，你知道。平时你也会用到这个词语。
可是，你真的知道，什么是肉麻吗？
我第一次知道什么叫肉麻，是在一次做心理咨询时。来访者是一位中年男士，他讲到一件事情，这件事情让他感觉到烦恼。
烦，是他最常有的情绪，弄明白他的烦恼到底是怎样的，非常重要。所以，我请他闭上眼睛，躺在一张躺椅上，重新讲述一下那件事情，讲的时候，尽可能详细，同时，保持对身体的觉知，而身体则不能动弹。
我们做过多次这样的练习，他驾轻就熟。然而，闭上眼睛讲了约一分钟，他就打了一个激灵，猛然睁开眼睛说：“武老师，太难受了，我可不可以不谈这个？”
“不行。”我少有的强硬地说，“这是极关键的时刻，好好去体会它。”
接下来，他一直躺在躺椅上，讲那件事情。我们很快发现，烦，其实仅仅是表面的情绪，而深层的情绪，是羞耻。
这份羞耻弥散在整个咨询室里，也传递到我身上，我感觉到身体麻得不得了。
当这份情绪最强烈时，他停止讲述，只是感受它，而我也静静地陪着他感受。
过了约半个小时，无比强烈的羞耻与肉麻终于消散，整个咨询室归于静谧。
这份静谧也消失后，我问他，发生了什么，这个过程中有什么要和我分享。
他说，终于明白了什么叫肉麻，在讲述的过程中，他的身体麻得不得了，非常难受，而他也终于明白，这就是羞耻。
原来，我的肉麻是对他的肉麻的呼应。
这次咨询，使他产生了一个很深的领悟——这完全是他自己领悟的，他觉得自己的心理发生了很大变化，又过了一小段时间后，困扰他多年的前列腺炎竟然不药而愈了。
前列腺炎、羞耻、烦、肉麻……这些其实都和一件事有关，就是性。他一直困扰在一个独特而普遍的性问题里，从来不敢直面，这次咨询，我们干脆而彻底地直面了一次他的性羞耻感，最终导致了身与心的变化。
从这个故事中我明白了，我们的很多词汇，并非形容词，譬如肉麻这个词，就只是一个很简单的描述性词语而已，它没有修饰或比喻的特征。肉麻，就是你的肉真的麻，而且情绪上伴随着的，是强烈的羞耻感。
由这个小小的感悟，我继而想到，我们的许多词汇，其实都在强调身体在学习与觉知方面的重要性，譬如体会、体验、体证、体悟、体察等。
但是，你可以问问你自己，在你从小到大的成长历程中，有谁告诉过你，学习与觉知必须与你的体验相结合？若是没有，你学到的就只是别人的知识，而非你自己的。
譬如，有谁曾如印度哲人葛印卡那样教诲你说：
“别人证悟到的真理，只是他自己的真理，而不是你的真理。”
又有谁曾像美国催眠大师斯蒂芬·吉利根那样教诲你说：
“如果没有身体的佐证，一个道理对你而言就可以说是一个谎言。”
或者说，你能否有股神巴菲特的运气——他的父亲一直在对他说：
“尊重你自己的感觉。”
或者，你能否如乔布斯那样，很早就能领悟到：
“最重要的是，拥有跟随内心和直觉的勇气。你的内心与直觉知道你真正想成为什么样的人。任何其他事物都是次要的。”
……
在中国，假若你拥有以上的运气，那我要祝福你，你真的是太幸运了，你是绝对的幸运儿。
因为，在我们的社会，你最容易听到的是，不要以自我为中心，别太把你自己当回事，要好好听大人的话，好好听权威的话……
