《小巴掌童话1》
豪猪在动物界是有名的大侦探，他的助手田鼠记性不大好，总爱忘事。一天，豪猪和他的助手田鼠站在路旁，看见一辆橘红色的汽车一弹一跳地开了过来，他的助手田鼠问：“这是谁开的车？”大侦探给烟斗装上烟，说：“这是贪吃的狗熊开的，吃得太多，汽车正随着他打着饱嗝儿呢！”一会一辆深灰色的汽车开了过来，突然又掉转头开了回去，田鼠斜眼看了一眼大侦探问道，“这是谁开的？”大侦探生气地挥了挥烟斗，说：“这是你儿子开的，他的记性和你一样糟糕，准是回去取忘掉的东西了。”（《大侦探和他的助手》）
《小巴掌童话2》
小故事里有大道理，例如《勤劳者的减法》，小鹿和獐子是亲戚，小鹿家门前有一条河，每天绕过河到对岸要花很多时间，獐子家住在半山腰，绕到山下也很费劲。一天，小鹿下定决心开始修桥，虽说要一年的时间，可是他坚持从365开始做减法，每减去一天，就离成功进了一步，獐子看到了摇摇头走开了。终于有一天小鹿桥修好了，而獐子感到下山却越来越费力气了，他想到要花一年的时间铺路，就又发愁了；故事里还有一个贴心的小伙伴：兔子、乌龟和刺猬要造一只靠气球飞上天的飞船，可是他们拒绝带上小鼹鼠，因为他太小，帮不了什么忙。当飞船飞了很久，小兔他们才发现忘了准备水和食物，这时听到了小鼹鼠的声音“楼上的朋友，请喝水，请吃果子。”，原来小鼹鼠把自己的箩筐，挂在了小兔他们的箩筐下面，成了他们“楼下”贴心的朋友（《楼下的朋友》）……
《小巴掌童话3》
有一只喜欢睡在床底下的青蛙，一天夜里他在床底下听到了小兔带着刺猬先生来到了他的家，刺猬先生的房子塌了，又生着病，只好借住到“外出旅行”的青蛙先生家。青蛙先生每天深夜都从床底下给刺猬先生“寄”来一封信，告诉刺猬先生他在遥远的国度希望他早点好起来。直到有一天，刺猬先生发现，原来青蛙先生一直住在他的床底下，他忍不住紧紧拥抱这位好心的朋友（《寄自床底下的信》）。《我的一份呢》一篇中，讲到了一只小野猪胖胖跟着妈妈来犀牛奶奶家做客，犀牛奶奶为他们准备了鲜美的汤和点心。用完餐，犀牛奶奶和妈妈收拾屋子、洗盘子，小野猪胖胖对犀牛奶奶说，劳动也应该分给他一份！真是一只懂得分享，又懂得分担的小猪。
《小巴掌童话4》
《河马先生的大雨伞》里，河马先生打着一顶大雨伞来熊奶奶家做客，这时小波波熊穿着熊奶奶新织的套衫，去找好朋友玩。忽然窗外传来了一阵嘈杂声，原来淘气的小波波熊撑着河马先生的大伞，被风吹上了天空。勇敢的小波波熊急中生智，把皮靴绑到套衫的麻线上，大皮靴扯着麻线，一点一点沉了下去。大伙儿一起扯着落下来的麻线，使小波波熊安然无恙地回来啦。书中还收入了作者的其他童话故事。在《小刺猬的那根豇豆》一篇，有一只勤快善良的小刺猬，他种了许多豇豆，送给了朋友们。冬天来到的时候，只剩下一根很长很长的豇豆，小刺猬悄悄地把豇豆塞进好朋友鼹鼠的洞里，冬眠的小鼹鼠吃到了这根美味的豇豆，度过了被友情包围的暖暖的冬天。
《小巴掌童话5》
选取了20篇童话作品，包括《像音乐和像锤子的敲门声》《洗澡时爱唱歌的青蛙》《草丛里奔跑的苹果》等。在《猫打呼噜旅馆》这篇童话里，讲到了一个来到森林旅馆的旅行团，其中有一位爱打呼噜的猫女士，她的呼噜打起来震天响，大家都不愿意和猫女士一个房间，只有犀牛太太愿意和猫女士住在一起。可是第二天早晨，当大家都在抱怨前一晚吱吱作响的老鼠吵得他们睡不好觉的时候，只有犀牛太太很精神，原来猫女士晚上忙着捉老鼠，白天才睡觉。接下来几天，猫女士夜里守护着旅馆，大家都打起了香甜的呼噜。这个旅馆的名字也改成了“猫打呼噜旅馆”。

Author Description

张秋生，1939年8月生于上海。中国作家协会会员。1958年开始儿童文学创作，出版童话集《小松鼠和他的伙伴》、《小巴掌童话百篇》、《来自桦树林的蒙面盗》、《狮子和老做不醒的梦》等百余种，儿童诗集《“啄木鸟”小队》、《校园里的蔷薇花》、《燃烧吧，篝火》、《三个胡大刚的故事》、《爱美的孩子》，童话诗集《小猴学本领》、《小粗心奇遇》、《天上来的百兽王》。作品曾获全国优秀儿童文学奖、宋庆龄儿童文学奖、陈伯吹儿童文学奖、冰心儿童文学新作奖及台湾杨唤儿童文学奖等多种奖项。

没有比小土拨鼠更贪玩的了。
放了学以后，他背着书包到处游荡：
和小鼹鼠翻筋斗；
和小刺猬赛跑；
