Mooncakes are a Chinese pastry typically eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, one of China's most important holidays. Amidst the celebrations, mooncakes are shared between family and friends. Often intricately decorated, mooncakes consist of a thin crust and a dense filling, usually of lotus seed paste or red bean paste. They may contain other special ingredients, such as yolks from salted duck eggs or nuts.
Chen Yun Pao Chuan was established in Fengyuan in Taiwan in 1908, producing popular desserts including cakes and mi xiang teas. Over the course of 5 generations, they have expanded their repertoire to include a range of delicious sweets, from Japanese daifuku wagashi to the iconic mooncakes served at Mid-Autumn Festival and more.
