《罪与罚》是陀思妥耶夫斯基的一部最深刻最富于现实意义的作品。他以犀利的笔触无情地剖析那个时代俄国的社会现实，深入地触及社会底层的各个角落，令人窒息地感到，走投无路就是小说的主旋律。种种社会原因把穷苦无告的人们逼到左右为难、进退维谷的困境。故事的背景是发生在十九世纪中叶，贫富不均、社会贫困且动荡不安的俄国城市中。一个怀抱着理想的法律系大学生，被贫困的生活逼的喘不过气来，不得不停止在校的课业。为生计所迫，他杀死放高利贷的房东老太婆和她的无辜的妹妹，制造了一起震惊全俄的凶杀案。

Author Description

费奥多尔· 陀思妥耶夫斯基（1821—1881），俄罗斯文学大师。他终生关注俄罗斯民族的终极救赎问题，曾因参与革命活动被判死刑，在行刑前被赦免，一生被癫痫病和酗酒困扰。他在写作中体验了十九世纪最深刻的精
神危机，代表作为《卡拉马佐夫兄弟》《罪与罚》和《白痴》。

非琴（1927—1994），原名潘痴云，河北沧州人，著名翻译家。译著有《罪与罚》《贵族之家》《巴乌斯托夫斯基选集》《普里什文随笔选》《罗马故事》等。
