Author Description

东野圭吾日本著名作家。
1985年，成名作《放学后》荣获第31届江户川乱步奖，开始专职写作。1997年，《名侦探的守则》惊艳亮相，引起整个推理世界巨大震动。1999年，《秘密》获第52届日本推理作家协会奖，入围第120届直木奖；此后《白夜行》、《单恋》、《信》、《幻夜》四度入围直木奖，但均与大奖擦肩而过；2006年，《嫌疑人X的献身》史无前例地将第134届直木奖、第6届本格推理小说大奖，以及当年度三大推理小说排行榜第1名一并收入囊中。
早期作品多为精巧细致的本格推理，后期笔锋越发老辣，文字鲜加雕琢，叙述简练凶狠，情节跌宕诡异，故事架构几至匪夷所思的地步，擅长从极不合理之处写出极合理的故事，功力之深令世人骇然。

第一章密室宣言
诡计之王
实在不好意思，又是一个非常没有新意的开始。电话铃响时，我还躺在被窝里。拿起黑色的话筒，值班刑警惊慌失措的声音立刻飞进我的耳中。
“警部，出事了！奈落村发生了一起杀人事件。”
“什么？”我掀开被子。
奈落村是一个位于大山深处的小村子。我带着部下，乘吉普车出发了。昨夜大雪，未铺柏油、坑洼不平的道路上满是积雪。到达目的地之前，我在车内摇来晃去，不知道有多少次撞到了车顶。
出来迎接我们的，是一个步履蹒跚的老巡查。他抬起手，举止有些奇怪，我想了想，觉得他大概是在敬礼。据说，这个村子里的巡查，只有这位老伯一人。这岂不是一个法律真空地带？直到现在都没有发生刑事案件，简直就是奇迹。
老伯带我们直奔案发现场。围观的人里三层，外三层，看到我们，纷纷后退。
“啊，警察来了。”
“这就让人安心了。”
“最厉害的一定是那个人。他留着髭须，一副威严之相。”
听到有个村民这样嘀咕，我心里很舒服。
“大家让开！让开！”
几十年都没有碰上这种案件的巡查老伯，终于有了一个展示自己的机会，精神十足。
我们穿过围观的人群，到了案发现场。大家不由得惊叫起来。
这不是本格推理小说中经常出现的场景吗？
白雪覆盖着广阔的田野。雪上留有串串脚印。仔细一看，脚印并非一个人的，而是几个人来来往往之后留下的。在这些脚印的前方，有两间并排而建的破旧平房。
我心生厌倦。只怕又是那种事情吧，我有一种预感。
“死的是住在左边的作藏。”巡查老伯说道， “发现他的则是住在右边的铁吉。”
“那脚印是谁留下的呢？”我问。
“这个啊，先是铁吉。他发现了尸体，非常吃惊，想赶紧通知其他人，于是从雪地上走过。”
“这些呢？
“是我和铁吉的。” 。
不知道为什么，老伯挺了挺胸脯，很是自豪的样子。
