郭家申，笔名禾人，南中等。河南南阳人，1935年生。1960年毕业于莫斯科大学文学语言系。历任中国社会科学院外国文学研究所助理研究员、外国文学研究所副所长、副编审、编审。长期从事外国文学，特别是俄罗斯文学的研究、编辑和翻译工作。

《我的大学》：
一就这样，不管怎么说，我到喀山大学①（①喀山大学是一所历史悠久的综合性大学。建立于1804年。
列夫·托尔斯泰1844年，列宁1887年，都曾在该校的法律系学习过。据《高尔基及其时代》一书介绍，高尔基大概是在1884年夏末或秋初到喀山大学去学习的。）学习去了，如此而已。
上大学的念头，是从一个叫尼古拉·叶夫列伊诺夫②（②H．B．叶夫列伊诺夫（1864-1934年），是一个小公务员的儿子，在喀山第三中学上学；1885年起在喀山大学数学物理系学习，曾积极参加喀山各种秘密小组的活动。）的中学生那里来的；他是一个很可爱的小伙子，人长得很帅，有一双女人般亲切温柔的眼睛。他和我同住在一幢房子的阁楼上，因常见我手里拿本书，觉得很好奇，于是我们便认识了。不久，叶夫列伊诺夫就开始劝我，说我有“非凡的科学才能”。
“你生来就是为科学服务的。”他说，一面很潇洒地甩动着他那马鬃似的长发。
当时我还不知道兔子也能为科学服务，而叶夫列伊诺夫却信誓旦旦地向我证明说：像我这样的小伙子，大学里正好非常需要。不用说，我们也谈到了米哈伊尔·罗蒙诺索夫③（③罗蒙诺索夫（1711-1765年），出身渔民家庭，19岁离家外出，先后在莫斯科、彼得堡、德国求学，是俄国第一个世界驰名的科学家、诗人、现代俄语标准语奠基人、画家和历史学家。
）的事例。叶夫列伊诺夫说，到喀山后，我可以先住在他那里，利用秋冬两季，把中学的课程修完，“几门”考试一通过——他就是这样说的：“几门”考试一大学就会给我发放政府助学金；五年后，我就会成为一名“学者”。一切都非常简单，因为叶夫列伊诺夫当时才十九岁，为人纯朴善良，古道热肠。
考完试后，他就走了。两个礼拜后，我也跟着他去了。
外婆送我走的时候。劝我说：“你呀，别老对别人发脾气，总是气鼓鼓的，成天板着个脸，对谁都不服气。你这都是从外公那里学来的，可是他——你外公——又怎么样呢？活了大半辈子，临了变成了一个傻瓜，苦命的老头子。你呀，有一点，你一定要记住：上帝从不对人们严加惩处，只有魔鬼才喜欢伤害无辜！再见了，喏……”这时，她从肌肉松弛、颜色灰暗的脸上擦掉仅有的几滴泪水，对我说：“以后我们再也见不着面了，你这一走，行踪无定，距离又远，而我——又是个快要死的人了……”最近一个时期，我不在亲爱的外婆身边，甚至很少见到她，可是现在，此时此刻，我突然痛切地感到，以后我再也看不到这个和我休戚与共、至亲至爱的人了。
我站在轮船的尾部，看着她站在码头上；她一只手在胸前画着十字，另一只手——用旧头巾的一角——在擦拭自己的脸，在擦她那双对人们充满挚爱光辉的乌黑的眼睛。
就这样，我来到了这有一半鞑靼人居住的城市，住在一座平房的一个狭小的房间里①（①高尔基到喀山后，起初就住在市郊叶夫列伊诺夫家，他在这里住了大约两个星朗的样子。）。这座房子不大，孤零零地坐落在一个小山坡上。在一条狭窄而贫穷的街道的尽头，房子有一面墙冲着一片火灾的废墟。废墟上杂草丛生，密密麻麻，有苦艾、牛蒡和团酸模；接骨木树丛里有一大堆坍塌的瓦砾，下面有一个很大的地窖，里面有许多无家可归的野狗，它们生在这里，也死在这里。这个地窖给我的印象很深，它是我所上过的大学中的一个。
