Book Abstract

这孩子是谁？
黄昏。博物馆行星上最惬意的时刻。
树影婆娑。希腊风格的展示馆群，如同忧愁的维纳斯像般裹了半身的薄墨。周围的街灯洒出朦胧而温暖的光芒，给走向酒店的人们染上些微橙色。
综合管辖署“阿波罗”的学艺员田代孝弘钟爱黄昏时分的恬静，而且今天晚上不用值夜班。他借口处理杂务返回官署再打发掉剩下的一小时，就可以好好放松了。
这一个小时一定要喝着咖啡优哉游哉地过，孝弘下定决心。绝对不再去想香炉的事。
写有诗歌的瓷香炉，令重视诗文的音乐舞台文艺部“缪斯”与执着于设计的绘画工艺部“雅典娜”针锋相对，各不相让。在保管室旁临时设置的会议室里，两边的负责人唇枪舌剑，口沫横飞，让居中调停斡旋的孝弘脑袋都快炸掉了。至于那座香炉，则是自顾自地蹲在桌子上，静静地闪耀着白色的光芒，仿佛在说“随你们的便”。
孝弘暴露在左来右往的激烈辩论中，努力克制自己不要去怨恨这座妄自尊大的香炉。
战斗告一段落的孝弘，在阿波罗官署前抬头眺望街灯，反省自己的想法。

他被一位年轻女子叫住了。
孝弘回头一看，只见一位身穿阿弗洛狄忒事务员工作服的女性正在小心翼翼地走过来。她身高适中，眼睛大得仿佛要掉下来似的。孝弘想不起她是谁。
“您是美和子的丈夫吧？”
“是我……”
她有一头栗色的长发，长到背心。她一边拨头发，一边道歉说：“突然打扰，十分抱歉。我是资料室装箱的职员，美和子经常来资料室，所以听说了一些您的事情。”
“啊，不好意思。”
孝弘的回答并不算冷淡，但她眨了眨眼睛，自嘲般地说：“您当然很疑惑吧。直接连接者不会光临资料室。您肯定在想‘这个人到底是谁啊？’”
“哎呀，那可没有。”

孝弘一不小心说出了所长的绰号。和稻草人所长亚伯拉罕·柯林斯扯上关系的事情恐怕没那么容易解决。
赛伊芙微微一笑，理了理头发。
“您一定没问题。我的能力太差。如果是您，一定觉得很简单。”
不要说简单啊，孝弘差点脱口而出。和所长扯上关系的事还没有遇上过简单的。就算自己这种具有权限A的阿波罗职员也是一样。如果自己真是她以为的那种无所不能的人物，那早就往稻草人的脑壳里塞点大脑进去了。就因为塞不进去，所以每天才这么辛苦。
孝弘勉强保持冷静。
“是不是简单，在听你介绍之前，恐怕不好说。先去官署吧，不介意的话，咱们去会议室谈谈。既然提到了稻草人……呃，所长的名字，我怕站在这儿听着听着都会晕倒的。”
她轻轻点点头：“不胜荣幸。我还是第一次进入阿波罗的官署。”
“哪儿的官署都一样。乏味得很，又乱。不用紧张，潘克斯特小姐。”
称呼紧张戒备的对象不能太郑重，孝弘想。他开玩笑似的问：“喊你莎莉行吗？”
