作者黑岛传治于1929年重返中国大陆，在山东等地调查发生于一九二八年五月的“济南惨案”相关背景，并根据其掌握的资料写成了长篇小说《武装的街巷》。作品以现实主义手法，真实再现了日本军国主义对中国人民和日本人民犯下的滔天罪行，具有极强的历史真实性与艺术震撼力。作品于一九三〇年出版。但由于其内容所反映的无产阶级立场和反战立场，发行当日即遭日本军国主义政府查禁，被列入禁书。该书再度正式出版时，黑岛传治已离世。
我们今天翻译此书，作为向世界反法西斯战争胜利七十周年的献礼，更是提醒后世之人，要铭记历史，莫忘国耻，为实现中华民族的伟大复兴而努力。

Author Description

黑岛传治（1898-1943），日本小说家。生于贫苦农民家庭。当过渔夫和工人。1923年开始创作。1930年担任日本无产阶级作家同盟中央委员。著有长短篇小说六十余种。长篇小说《武装的街巷》，揭露日本帝国主义在中国济南制造“五三惨案”的罪行。短篇小说《猪群》反映日本农民的悲惨生活和他们反对封建地主的斗争。其他作品有《盘旋的鸦群》《两分钱》《风雪西伯利亚》等。

李光贞，山东济南人。文学博士。现为山东师范大学外国语学院日语系教授，日语语言文学学科带头人，博士研究生导师。主要学术兼职：中国日语教学研究会山东分会会长，《国际村上春树研究集刊》主编。主要研究领域：外国文学解读与教育、日本文学与文化等。先后出版《夏目漱石小说研究》（外语教学与研究出版社2007年）、《多元视野下的日本学研究》（光明日报出版社2010）等专著。多次赴日访学，其中2008-2009年在日本东京大学做访问学者。

一
五六辆独轮车快速行走着。
然后穿过贫民窟。脸面呈土色的苦力，一人推着辆只有一个车轴的独轮车，独轮车的车轴似背负着巨大麻袋般痛苦地呜咽着，发出吱吱呀呀地响声。贫民窟对面是青瓦屋顶的山东兵兵营。
独轮车拉着菱形帆从贫民窟沿着兵营土瓦下的荫凉行走着，已经看不到帆了，但那吱吱呀呀呻吟般的车轴声，却传到很远。[1]
贫民窟简陋小屋防风用的高粱秆后面，孩子们在大小便，他们认为就算是孟子在幼年时代也是这样蹲着的，然后用一根细棍子玩着自己拉出来的粪便。
纸屑、破布、稻草秆、玻璃碴子等——这些乱七八糟的东西散乱地堆积在那里。小脚的妻子活像小偷盗来的陈旧的古董。垃圾、花生皮、西瓜子皮等扔得到处都是，饥饿的苦力把能找到的干枯的红萝卜头子、白萝卜缨子等凡是能吃的东西，都拿来果腹充饥。
在独轮车呜咽着消失的相反方向，大量吞噬白杨原木的火柴工厂的机械锯，像是能削掉骨头般地竖在那里。——自青黑色的山东兵营中走出四五个白俄兵。
“要不要？”[2]
正在等待拉客的洋车群，不知从何处一下子围上来，车夫的裤子屁股那块儿都快要破掉了。他们吵吵着，争先恐后地想自己先拉到客人。
“要不要？”
俄国人看也不看他们，只是甩动长腿慢吞吞地往前走着。
白俄兵是很早以前从俄罗斯逃到远东、又从西伯利亚流落到中国的，一直穿在身上的服装早已破烂不堪，只剩下一条完整的皮带，然而，他们即便是没有钱，也不知从何处弄到了与以前差不多风格的衣服、外套等穿在身上：脏兮兮黑乎乎的哥萨克帽子、高筒皮靴、肥大的长及膝盖的蓝灰色裤子。
在个子低矮的中国人看来，他们的脑袋和肩膀都高高地耸立着。
“这个月发了多少钱？”
和白俄兵并排走着的，是一个穿中式大褂儿的男子，他搭话道。这个人是山崎。
“一分钱也没发。”
“上个月发了多少钱？”
“上个月也没发钱。”
“那，大上个月？”
“大上个月一分钱也没发。”
“真想揍人！”穿中式大褂儿的山崎小声嘟囔着。“管他什么的呢。真想揍人！真想照着大个子张宗昌那张肥嘟嘟的脸揍上去。”
白俄兵突然以一副愉快地的样子看着天空微笑起来。
作为他们头领的米洛库洛夫，卖身给张宗昌，然后又被山东军买过来，他们骑在低矮的中国马上，马靴似乎总在地面上拖拉着，被派往危险的第一线。有的人在战场上中弹死掉，有的人失去一条腿、有的人失去一只眼睛、有的人失去一条胳膊后被抛弃，还有的人与关系不好的山东兵大吵一架，因受不了他们的大蒜味而跑掉了。
他们从战场上回到俄罗斯酒吧的时候，战争中的血腥和硝烟的味道已然渗入到其肉体内里。
“畜生！泡在妓院里的张宗昌是什么东西！已经有二十七个妾了！…………。管他什么的呢。想揍人！”
白俄兵依然以一副高兴的样子看着天空微笑。
他们眼前火柴厂白铁皮围墙边上，成排的洋槐树正在吐露着春芽。
树上边，街道的上空，小鸟正沐浴着夕阳，欢快地飞翔着。

工厂里呛人的白烟中，弥漫着灰尘、硫磺、磷、松脂等混在一起的焦糊味儿。
男女童工在工作台前排成一排，变戏法般快速将整根火柴杆儿装进黄色的小盒中，忙乱的装盒声，仿佛是赶牛时嘴里咂咂地发出的声响，此起彼伏，好像牙齿上下打颤般忙乱。
童工将从干燥室运来的带火柴头的整根火柴抓在手里掂掂，按照一定的分量放进火柴盒里，再放进贴有商标的外箱中，像鼓掌一样用手拍打拍打，一会儿一个，嚓嚓就完成了。七八岁正是贪玩年龄的男女童工们忙忙碌碌地使劲干着。
中国人把小点的孩子放在筐子里担着，大点的孩子让他自己走着，到街上去卖孩子。有的用七块钱、有的用十块钱买下的孩子，混在一起，买来做童工。因为年龄小、个子矮，那些孩子们与其他工友坐在同一排工作椅上，手都够不着工作台，他们在地上放个盆子，再在盆子上放个杌子，坐在杌子上伸出小手干活。
他们的脸色都是灰黄的泥土色。因为火柴头上的磷面自燃及经常接触胶着在火柴盒两侧玻璃粉的缘故，手指头烂乎乎的，上面缠着的绷带也脏乎乎的。
工作期间一律禁止他们说话闲谈。六个小时的工作期间，他们就像不发声音的小机器人一样，只动手不动口。
经常会出现嗖嗖的声音，那是黄磷火柴自然摩擦瞬间起火的音响，那时就会烧着孩子的手指。同时，脏乎乎的孩子的身影在摇曳升起的淡紫色烟雾中变得模糊起来。
虽然没有一个人说话，但车间里仍然充满令人烦躁不已的杂音和轧音。
干太郎在工厂里来回巡视着。
他带着鞭子和手枪。在他手下有中国人把头，把头手里拿着木棒。那根木棒，不管对方是谁，砰打在上面，柔软的手脚即便是打折了也没有关系。但其实在日本人和把头面前，对吓得赶紧干活的工人们来说，棒子和手枪完全没有必要。
干太郎是个二十五岁的青年，虽不是和悦之人，但他讨厌一味地让中国人多干活。他是个不擅长监工、爱抠死理的人。
含有尘埃和黄磷的有毒气体，在侵入童工肺部的同时，也在不断地侵入他的肺部。
——你到底是中国人还是日本人？最近受到瑞典火柴的竞争压力而怒气冲冲的老板，责备干太郎总是袒护中国工人，用具有讽刺意味的辛辣眼神看着他。
干太郎的父亲最终还是成了海洛因吸食者，想到这，他脸色很难看。日本人可以卖海洛因，但不能像中国人那样吸食，他父亲不仅吸食，而且还成为瘾君子。
“我们已经被日本人嫌弃，紧接着就轮到我了，我也会从这个工厂被赶出去吧……。”
实际上，干太郎比起那些老辣的日本人，对中国人还算温和，而且，工人们对他也比小山、守田感到亲切，也愿意与他说话。
“还有几个？”
干太郎微笑着和开着轴削机在木框上排着火柴杆儿的房鸿吉搭讪。房鸿吉的头部，因为落满尘埃呈现白色，扁平鼻子下面，露出脏兮兮的黄色牙齿抿嘴一笑。
“后面还有几个？”
“三个，三个。”房鸿吉慌忙答道。三个指的是三车。
“快点干。”
“是，是。”
房鸿吉在装满火柴杆儿的木框架上扣上扣，发出啪啪的声音。
干太郎离开那里来到浸点工序，这里散发出一种像什么被烧糊般的有点甜味儿的磷的味道，与硫磺、松脂等味道混在一起，扑鼻而来。
从大敞开着的后门口，机械锯和轴承地剥机，似要把齿轮刨平齿般地轰隆隆地发出声响。小山将未加工的杆儿放在手心查看，然后像吐唾沫般啪地一声扔到地下来到污浊的走廊上。
“你认为姓于的这个家伙怎么样？”
干太郎知道小山所说的姓于的，是指他管辖的平时习惯低着头有点怪异的于立岭。
“没怎么样。”
“那家伙的工作不是很好，浸点处总是出屑，你知道吗？”
“并非如此。”
“你眼里，哪能看出有出屑不出屑的？”
为中国人说话就会被无端猜忌，但向小山说自己管理的人的坏话，这也是他不愿意做的。火柴杆儿、浸点、干燥室都属于干太郎管辖。
“那样的家伙如果放任不管，等北伐军来了，就会成为他们的帮手。”
小山把塞在鼻子里东西拿出来非难着干太郎。
小山一走，干太郎产生了特意要摁着于立岭的屁股看看的心情。小山的下颚骨因为磷中毒而腐烂，且侵蚀到胸部，不断咳嗽。于立岭是一个长着好像看不起人似的鼻翼鼓出来的中国人。
他们走了。
“哎呀！”
那时工人正将一打火柴用纸包成一包后，再装进大木箱中，突然，嗖嗖地响起了划破天空的声音。
红月莪被工人视为美人，但在日本人看来，实在看不出她那张扁平脸好看在哪里，此时的红月莪吃惊地往后退着，她的腿纤细。木箱中的火柴因摩擦起火了，黑紫色的烟雾，从装有六百打火柴的木箱中，开始向四面八方放炮般地啪啪地四散开来。被烟包围的红月莪，好像是烧到了手指。
小山用骨瘦如柴的手捂住嘴，边迎着扑鼻的烟雾边用可怕的眼光看着这一切。红月莪烧着的手看起来很疼的样子，她用另一只手摁着，朝周围看去，当与小山的目光相遇时，马上垂下眼睛，看向正在冒烟的木箱子。
干太郎看到小山的下颚骨塌陷的嘴角痛苦地扭曲着。红月莪很害怕的样子，用十分恐惧的眼光看着工段长。
小山依然置身于弥漫的烟雾中。
干太郎向办公室走去。
