第二组研究在中国和泰国制造的产品的成本结构（也就是我所在的那组）。
第三组分析在澳大利亚制造的产品的成本结构。
在早期的执行阶段，项目组使用了后面各章所讨论的FOCUS模型中的工具：界定问题形成完整的议题树与行业中的对手进行横向比较（结果发现竞争对手采用代工方式先在美国制造，然后出口到日本）
第二组和第三组在中国、泰国和澳大利亚进行了广泛的访谈，并收集了标杆数据。借助于这两个组的努力，我们确信找到了核心间题。根据我们的分析，如果把产品组合从澳大利亚转移到泰国，那么完全有可能实现成本的降低。
