《"三言""二拍"叙事艺术研究》主要运用叙事学分析方法，研究“三言”“二拍”的叙事艺术——看其使用了怎样的叙述语言、运用了怎样的时间处理艺术、调动了怎样的观察视角，以及叙述者是怎样或浅或深介入故事的，等等。同时，为了弥补叙事学分析自我封闭的研究局限，《"三言""二拍"叙事艺术研究》还吸取传统的文学分析方法，知人论世，结合“三言”“二拍”编纂者所处的时代背景，以及编纂者的生平遭际、思想主张等，分析作品所描绘和呈现的那个艺术世界的丰富内涵及其艺术特点。
Author Description

罗小东，生于广西，文学博士，研究方向为中国古代文学，现为北京外国语大学中文学院教授、副院长。受学校派遣，曾在日本大东文化大学、韩国诚信女子大学任客座教授。出版的学术著作有《话本小说叙事研究》、《古典文学与传统文化精神》、《（金瓶梅）对小说美学的贡献》（合著）等；在《文学评论》、《中国文化研究》、《文艺评论》等刊物发表论文40余篇。同时还与人合作，编写了《中国文化读本》、《世界文化精粹辞典》、《历代抒情诗分类鉴赏集成》等教材与词典。

Book Abstract

冯梦龙认为，小说创作既不是作者对生活中的人和事的实录，也不是作者完全的凭空虚构，更不是作者对小说素材所作的一个简单的去伪存真的工作。“人不必有其事，事不必丽其人”，“事真而理不赝，即事赝而理亦真”，作者在创作过程中，可以不受生活真实性的限制，可以根据表现情理和逻辑的需要，对来自现实生活的各种素材作出取舍，进行一番艺术的再创造，可以将张三身上发生的事情，嫁接于李四身上，反之亦然。这样创作出来的艺术形象，虽然是生活中从来没有发生过的，但却由于它表现了真情至理，而获得了艺术的生命，它与“事真而理不赝”的史著性实录具有同等的价值。
从冯梦龙的这一观点，我们可以清晰看到李贽和谢肇涮的文艺思想对他的影响。虽然冯梦龙在这里所说的“理”，无非是“不害于风化，不谬于圣贤，不戾于诗书经史”的陈词，但是如果结合冯梦龙在“三言”中一部分作品的具体描写，则不难发现他所主张的“理”，实则已超出了传统封建伦理的范畴，而具有了新的内涵。应该说，冯梦龙为明代的小说虚构理论增添了重要的一笔。
凌漾初（1580-1644），字玄房，号初成，亦名凌波，别号即空观主人，乌程（今浙江吴兴）人。18岁补廪膳生，55岁以优贡授上海县丞，后擢徐州通判，并分署房村。崇祯十七年（1644），李自成部进逼徐州，忧愤而死。凌漾初一生著述颇丰，主要小说创作有话本集《拍案惊奇》、《二刻拍案惊奇》。
凌潆初的小说理论，主要反映在他以即空观主人署名所写的《拍案惊奇序》和《二刻拍案惊奇小引》两篇文章中。另外，署名睡乡居士所写的《二刻拍案惊奇序》，由于作者是与凌潆初关系密切的朋友，此序可以视为凌潆初的代言，故在此放在一起讨论。
