Author Description

林清玄，台湾高雄人，散文大师，被誉为“当代散文八大家之一”，曾任台湾《中国时报》海外版记者、主编等职。二十岁出版散文集《莲花开落》，正式走上散文创作的道路；三十岁前揽尽台湾各项文学大奖；三十二岁与佛法结缘，入山修行三载，出山后写成“身心安顿”系列；四十岁出版“菩提”系列，被推为当代具影响力的图书；五十二岁完成《林泉》、《清欢》和《玄想》，被选为台湾中学生优秀读物。他从文学到佛学，悲智双运，情境兼容，不断创造推新，自成一家之言。

Book Abstract

《玫瑰海岸》：
在时间里他第一次向一个少女求婚，是十八岁高中毕业那年，他们在月台上等着北上的火车，她微笑点头答应他，眼中含着泪光。他就背着那张带着泪的脸，坐上开往北部的火车。
她是鱼，他是雁子，他一面读书，一面辛勤地给她写信。起先回信十分频繁，慢慢的，信少了，有一天她的信永远地中断了，他写着写着也就停下，甚至回到南方，也找不到信上的地址。他完全的绝望。十四年后，她打来一个电话，电话里的声音至为陌生。
她约他出去，问他：“你还愿意娶我吗？”挂了电话，他在院子里发了一个晚上的呆，到儿子唤他时才清醒过来，他决定不去赴约，宁可记着那月台上轰隆声中，寂静的微笑点头落泪的那张脸。
那张脸在时间里，其余都在时间外了。
悬崖服役的时候，他被调到外岛。
他的未婚妻在黑夜的码头上送他，码头很暗很暗；也不知道为什么，他清楚地看到她落在地上的泪，一朵一朵的开着花，她流的泪足足像一个花园。
泪花里的她，哑着声音对他说：“我一定等你回来，你安心盼去吧，我一定等你回来。”他反而没有落一滴泪，感激得忘了流泪。
在外岛一年，就传来她订婚的消息，要嫁给一个远从美国回来相亲的青年，他在海防的岗哨上总清楚地看到她收拾行李准备登上喷着烟的飞机。
没有防务的时候，他就坐在海边的悬崖上看着南方，想要跳进那正在翻滚的海水。他捡起海边的一块巨石丢下海里，那巨石撞击岩岸，粉碎，然后沉进无边的海洋。他幻想巨石是他，离开悬崖。从海边回来，他仿佛重生。
金急雨金急雨是一种花的名字，花谢时像乱雨纷飞。他常站在她家巷口前的金急雨花下，看着落了一地的金黄色花瓣。有时风起，干落的花瓣就四散飞去，但不改金黄的颜色，仿佛满天飞起的黄蛱蝶。有四年的时间，他几乎天天在花下等她，然后一起走过长长的红砖道路。他们分开的那一夜是在金急雨花的树下，他看她的背影沉默地消失在黑夜的巷子，心中一片茫然，如同电影放映时的断片，往事一幕幕的从黑巷里放映出来，他一滴泪也没有落，竞感觉那夜的天星比平常更明亮。
他捧起一把落地的金急雨，让它们从手指间静静地滑落，那时他真切地体会到，如果金急雨不落下，明年就没有新的芽，也不会开出新的花。萎落的花并非死亡，而是一种成长，一种等待，等待下一个季节。
相识的时候是花结成蕾，相爱的时候是繁花盛开，离别之际是花朵落在微风抖颤的黑夜。
体会到这种惊奇的成长，他竟落下泪来。
