Content Description

三苏生活的年代，是北宋王朝的全盛年代，也是北宋王朝由盛到衰，危机四伏的年代。在他们生活的一百零四年(1009—1112)里，宋王朝为巩固自身统治，进行过两次大的改革。一是庆历新政，仅推行了一年多就失败了；二是熙宁变法（王安石变法），推行了十多年，围绕熙宁变法的斗争几乎长达半个世纪，带来的不是宋王朝统治的巩固，而是北宋的灭亡。苏洵“亲见”了首次变革的失败，他言庆历新政及其失败说：“洵时在京师，亲见其事。”苏轼兄弟则直接卷入了围绕熙宁变法所进行的斗争。三苏父子都想“致君尧舜”，但他们历仕的五个皇帝(仁宗、英宗、神宗、哲宗、徽宗)，总体上说，真可谓“一蟹不如一蟹”，最后竟“致”出了宋徽宗这样的昏君、亡国之君，在苏辙死后十五年北宋就灭亡了。而“经纶不究于生前，议论常公于身后”，这三位“一时之杰”，终成为“百世之师”。本书乃作者在1996年台湾出版的《三苏传》的基础上修改增补而成，增补内容如《老泉非苏洵之号》、《三苏世系和姻亲述略》、《三苏年谱简编》等。共分60章，形式颇似章回体；内容上，则宏括三苏的生平事迹，考证三苏的诗文本事，述评三苏的诗文成就，三位一体，有机交融，组成《三苏传》的文脉。正文之后有10个附录，对正文进行文献性质的补充和考证，如《三苏年谱》《三苏著述》。

曾枣庄，四川省简阳人，四川大学古籍研究所教授，中国苏轼研究学会副会长，《全宋文》主编，《中华大典？宋辽金元文学分典》主编。男，1937年1月生，四川简阳人，四川大学古籍研究所教授，中国苏轼研究学会副会长，《全宋文》主编、《中华大典·宋辽金元文学分典》主编。早年从事杜诗研究，著有《杜甫在四川》。后从事三苏及宋代文学研究，先后著有《苏洵评传》、《苏轼评传》、《苏辙年谱》、《苏辙评传》、《三苏文艺思想》、《三苏选集》、《苏轼诗文词选译》、与人合作笺注有苏洵的《嘉祐集》、校点有苏辙的《栾城集》。近年出版有《论西昆体》、《三苏传》、《宋文纪事》（全二册）、《苏诗汇评》（全四册）、《苏词汇评》、《苏文汇评》、《北宋文学家年谱》、《苏辛词选》（合作）、《苏轼研究史》（即出）。共发表论文一百多篇。

Book Abstract

三“少年喜奇迹，落拓鞍马间”

苏洵字明允。南宋以来，多称苏洵号老泉。但《石林燕语》卷十云：“苏子瞻眉州谪黄州，号东坡居士，……晚年又号老泉山人”；明人黄燦、苏炜《重编嘉祐集纪事》载马元调语云：“老泉固子瞻号也，吾尝见子瞻墨迹矣，其图记曰‘东坡居士，老泉山人’，八字合为一章。且欧（阳修）、曾（巩）诸大家所为志铭、哀挽诗具在，有号明允以老泉者乎？”，可见老泉为苏轼号而非苏洵号，但长期以来以讹传讹，一般人仍以苏老泉为苏洵。他生于宋真宗大中祥符二年(1009)，卒于宋英宗治平三年(1066)，终年五十八岁。

苏涣进士及第时，苏洵已经十六岁。正是在苏涣进士及第的影响下，苏洵也参加了下一届即天圣五年(1027)的进士考试，但未及第。欧阳修《苏明允公墓志铭》说：“(苏洵)年二十七始大发愤，谢其素所往来少年，闭户读书为文辞。岁余，举进士再不中。”二十七岁之后“岁余”，表明是在二十九岁时；“再不中”，说明苏洵在二十九岁之前还曾举进士；可惜欧阳修未明确交代苏洵初举进士的时间。但是，苏洵的《送石昌言使北引》却为我们提供了重要的线索：

昌言举进士时，吾始数岁，未学也。忆与群儿戏先府君侧，昌言从旁取枣栗啖我。家居相近，又以亲戚故甚狎。昌言举进士，日有名。吾后渐长，亦稍知读书，学句读，属对声律，未成而废。昌言闻吾废学，虽不言，察其意甚恨。后十余年，昌言及第第四人，守官四方，不相闻。

程、石、苏是当时眉山的三大家族，其后皆有人在外作官，并有姻亲关系，苏序幼女适石扬言，石扬言与石昌言为兄弟，故苏轼有“亲戚”之语。司马光《石昌言哀辞》说：

眉山石昌言，年十八举进士，伦辈数百人，昌言为之首，声震西蜀。四十三乃及第。及第十八年知制诰，又三年以疾终。光为儿时，始执卷则知昌言名，已而同登进士第，与昌言游凡二十年。
