Content Description

杨万里（1127—1206），字廷秀，号诚斋，南宋吉州吉水县湴塘村（今属江西吉安市吉水县黄桥乡）人。绍兴二十年（1150）首中乡举，二十四年中进士。历官赣州司户、零陵县丞、知奉新县、临安府教授（未赴）、国子博士、太常博士、太常丞、将作少监、知漳州（未赴）、知常州、提举广东常平茶盐、广东提刑、尚书吏部员外郎、吏部郎中、兼太子侍读、右司郎中、左司郎中、秘书少监、知筠州、秘书监、江东转运副使。弃官回乡，特授通议大夫、宝文阁待制致仕。授至宝谟阁学士，封庐陵郡开国侯。卒谥文节。
杨万里首先是一个诗人，与陆游、范成大、尤袤并称为“南宋四大家”。据说其平生作诗两万多首，今存4200余首。而且其诗名在当时是在陆游之上的。姜特立《谢杨诚斋惠长句》诗云：“今日诗坛谁是主？诚斋诗律正施行。”项安世《又用韵酬潘杨二首》云：“四海诚斋独霸诗。”陆游自己也说：“文章有定价，议论有至公。我不如诚斋，此评天下同。”（《谢王子林判院惠诗编》）其诗独具个性，被号“诚斋体”。
杨万里又不仅仅以诗名世，他还是一位爱国忧民、“也有性气”、“终身厉清直之操”（罗大经《鹤林玉露》甲编卷5）的直臣。同时，其经学，其政论，其辞赋，其文章，也都具有相当的造诣。
然而多少年来，甚至一直缺乏对杨万里的全面、系统研究。关于其生平，除早期几篇语焉未详的简单年谱之外，迟迟未见较为详尽的《杨万里年谱》问世。这对杨万里研究的深入开展，当然是一件极为不利的憾事。
杨万里（诚斋）系“南宋四大家”之一，诗歌创作自成一休，号称“诚斋体”，在诗歌史上占有一席之地。本年谱的出版，对推动杨万里研究有重要意义。谱传首列时事、次谱文、次注文，凡编者有引用、说明、补充、订正之处，皆以按语详加说明，体现了博学慎思的治学风格。全书近60万字，历时二十余年始克完稿，出版时又多年波折。本书是杨万里第一部详谱。

Author Description

于北山（1917－1987），教授。直隶（今河北）霸县人。早年读私塾。1949年后，历任南京师范专科学校、南京教师进修学院教员，淮阴师范专科学校副教授、教授。专于宋代文学。著有《陆游年谱》、《范成大年谱》、《杨万里年谱》。
