Book Abstract

《中国工程院士传记：俞大光传》：
当时的中国，正面临着国外西方势力的全面封锁，作为尖端科技的核武器研制方面的资料几乎是一片空白。俞大光能够找到的只有一份代号是A039的苏联专家建议可以当作参考资料学习。由于这份文件极其简略，而且只讲结构不谈原理，所以并不能帮助俞大光从根本上理解关于核武器的基本原理。
在万般无奈的情况下，俞大光只好采用自学核物理专业的大学教材先为自身打基础的笨办法。这种做法由于不能直接联系核武器的实际，几个月下来，俞大光感到进度实在太慢，此后，他又开始研读科研报告，但总体说来都收效甚微。
眼看着自己选择的几种路径，效果都不明显，不能快速地帮助自己进入核武器研制的门槛，这不由使俞大光陷入深深的苦恼，深感这样下去难于发挥自身作用，有负组织的期望。如果要改变这种局面，想发挥在技术上的优势，就必须要到第一线的科技岗位上去。可是，对于刚刚到九院的俞大光来说，贸然向组织上提出自己的想法和要求显然是不太合适的。
一心想要尽快摸清核武器原理，能够发挥自己作用的俞大光陷入到无比焦虑的心情中。这时，俞大光与哈工大的李昌校长的一次偶然相遇，最终使事情发生了转机。
对于九所调俞大光这件事，哈工大的李昌校长当初从内心里是非常不舍得放人的，但是，因为是中央下的调令，他也只能忍痛割爱，为此，他曾专门给俞大光写过一封长信表达自己的心情。1962年4月下旬俞大光进京报到，7月全家迁居北京。
大概就是在这不久，李昌校长到北京开会，住在西直门大街一个宾馆。恰巧俞大光也在该宾馆参加另一个会议，会议结束后，在宾馆院内偶然见到了老领导。畅叙别情之后，李校长关切地问到他在新单位的工作情况。由于涉及机密，俞大光不便详细报告，只说自己被安排在业务办公室，从事机关工作，同时表露了自己的想法，觉得在机关没有充分发挥出自己应有的作用。
