Book Abstract

问题分成三种类型
1.从目的区分：恢复原状型和追求理想型
一般而言，问题可以区分为两种类型：以恢复原状为目标，以及以提升现状达成理想为目标。这种分类方法是用目的来区分问题类型。“恢复原状型”是指恢复成原本的状态，遇到这种类型的问题时，要将原本的状况视为期待的状况。恢复原状型问题的思考方式是，现状与过去的状况之间出现落差，要从落差中找出问题。例如：
“市场占有率与去年同期相比少了5%。”
“手表电池没电，因此不动了。”
“营销费用在最近近几个月逐渐攀升。”
“因忧郁症而长期停职的员工人数，比去年多出一倍。”
“自行车的轮胎破了。”
如果这些状况被视为问题，那么说出状况的人便是发现了恢复原状型的问题。其原因在于，我们可以推测，他们将恶化之前的状况假定为期待的状况。因此，解决这种问题时，必须将现状恢复成以前的水平。简单地主产，就是恢复原状。
以上述的例子来说，手表没电了，就去钟表行换电池。想修好自行车的破胎，只要去自行车行拜拖老板修理即可。但是，其他的问题就没那么简单。如果以为恢复原状是比较容易解决的问题，很可能会吃到苦头，因为形成问题的原因很复杂，其中包含了自己无法掌握的复杂因素，例如环境的结构性变化等。
2.追求理想型的目标在于提升现状
追求理想型问题之所以发生，是因为现在的状况未满足期待。因此，追求理想型问题的思考方式是，虽然目前没有重大损害，但由于现状未满足期待的状况，于是把它视为问题。例如：
“明年的目标是，希望营业额可以成长7％。”
“我想住更高楼层的房子。”
“我希望能挤进大学生最想进入的世界500强企业工作。”
“在处理事务工作上，我希望能再减少3个小时。”
“我希望能在近期内购买新型的车子。”
以上的例子都是目前没有立即的损害，但是这些想法都认为现状不如理想，并将其视为问题。这些例子将理想与现状的落差视为问题，属于追求理想型问题。
这个类型的困难之处在于，你的理想状况设定在哪个位置。设定得太高，有些人可能还没开始努力就放弃了。反过来说，设定得太低，则无法激发出挑战的激情。
3.用显在或潜在的观念来区分问题
除了用目的来区分恢复原状型和追求理想型这两种问题，还可以将“显在或潜在”这种时间上的观点，当做问题分类时的切入点。所谓“显在型问题”，是指眼可见其形、或大或小、已发生不良状态的问题。如果我们现今观察到的问题，例如“营业额减少”“成本攀升”“离职率上升”等，出乎原先的预料之外，那么这些已发生不良状态的问题都称做显在型问题。
