Author Description

刘大铭，男，1994年4月出生于兰州。因基因突变，自幼罹患世界性罕见疾病成骨不全症，经历过十一次大型手术，多次小型复位手术，两次与死亡擦肩而过。其先后累计创作四十余万字，在全国知名报刊发表文章十万余字，十一次荣获国家级文学奖项，两次受邀至人民大会堂颁奖。2013年，他被评为“感动中国网事”十大人物，2014年被评为“全国自强模范”，获“甘肃省五四青年奖章”，是“感动中国”全国候选人，是2014年CCTV-1《青年中国说》选手，演讲视频曾被列为优酷、腾讯头条，前后被播放100万余次。2015年7月被英国曼彻斯特大学正式录取。

《命运之上》：
生命伊始
生命像一支在寒风中的火烛，多少次将要熄灭，多少次又摇曳着燃烧，直至整根蜡烛化为一摊燃灰，光才是真正地灭了。
在我第一回知道自杀这件事儿的时候，我想死亡是轻而易举的，在痛苦、歧视、伤病与贫穷中，这样的抉择，将会来的更快、更容易。那时我便明白，身世显赫，性情豁达，相貌又姣好的人，永远不会多想生与死这件沉重的事儿，而生活崎岖，似乎将一切不幸都收入囊中的人们，却常常会念叨，自己是不是多余的。
十几年过去了，当十九岁的我再回想起那些念头时，却感到了荒唐——生命何尝不是火烛，愈是多灾多难，却愈发光彩照人。在那样火热的光芒中，它燃尽自己的躯干，将怨恨与欢乐，一并消融于火光之中。无论喜怒哀乐，悲欢离合，这样的日子，决然是世上任何一个人无法逃避的。世界是黑的，它需要光。能让一方土地亮堂、温暖，世界便不会让你轻易离开——由此我明白，生与死实则不由自己决定，想要掌控命运，惟独只能让自己活的更好，而不是去想，如何死的更痛快。
我第一回住院时，刚刚三岁，说话不是很清楚，也不明白疼的感觉。可我却在那时学会了用鼻子去分辨生活的苦甜。医院的味道是苦的，四面八方充斥着消毒水味，那是一种浓郁、刺鼻、热烈的味道，闻到它们，我便知道又不能自由了，我会被穿上特定的病号服，在某个特定的时段里，感受多种多样的疼痛；与之相对，家的味道是甜的，土腥味的君子兰，带有草地般清香的地板，略微苦涩的白墙面，闻到它们，我便知道是回家了，又可以快乐上好一阵子。那时我最大的愿望，便是能安稳地在家，静静地看那些熟悉的景物。
似乎是七岁，也或许是比七岁要更晚一些，那样一个懵懂的年纪里，我明白了一件事儿——我是个患上不治之症的病孩子。我从旁人那里听到，这样一种疾病，会让我饱受折磨，甚至于在幼年的某一天，就会丢掉性命。更为不幸的是，人们并无对抗它的办法，甚至拿不出一种像样的药，惟一能做的，只是不断的手术。接着，在生命无尽的哀鸣中，目睹我由生至死的过程。这样一种因基因突变产生的骨骼系统疾病，是人类史上的意外，也是个人命运中最大的骗局。
是的，一场骗局。最简单的说法是，它用逼真的表象欺骗着众人的内心，又利用众人固有的私欲，让人们以为，这条脆弱多病的生命多半是完了。就像将一条脱水的金鱼，抛下悬崖那样，人们以为它会死掉，但却想不到，下方有一湾汹涌的长河。
童真常令世俗慌乱。弄清病因对于那时的我而言，不过只是个故事罢了。我仍旧看着伙伴们嬉戏，聆听雨天时窗台清脆的回响，即使当我躺在病床时，我也只想着，我快能出院了，出院，就能重新拥有过去的一切。我的父母，却常在夜晚失眠，然后在我将要睡着时，抚摸着我的脸颊，轻轻叹气，那样的厚重的叹息，像是蒸汽时代的机车，冗长、有力，绵延不绝。
他们终究不是神明，无法在多年以前就洞悉以后的事，更无法像小说中那样满怀自信与希望，认为我定能在将来一帆风顺。他们日思夜想着，我该如何在这现实的社会中，拥有平等的人权。受良好的教育，做体面的工作，组成幸福的家庭，再有一个安详的晚年，这样常规性的人生，在我这里却变得举步维艰。他们甚至无法确定，我能活到哪一天，倘若有一天他们老了，我这年青而孱弱的生命，又能托付给谁呢？我定会遭人白眼，在饥饿与贫苦中过活，若是更惨一些，我还会抱怨社会，痛恨自己。
他们不敢再想下去，我们彼此相望着，我只想尽快结束这场无趣的思考，回到欢天喜地的生活中去。
幼年的那些日子，我睡在母亲旁边，在某一个半夜里，我忽然感到口渴难耐，可当我清醒时，我发觉周围一切都是黑的，家里的每个人都在熟睡之中。我不忍心将他们叫醒，总觉得那样做，会让自己的心里很难过。于是我独自坐起来，翻过母亲的身子，轻手轻脚地爬向饮料箱旁，我用双臂支持着全身的重量，再努力地活动瘦弱的双腿，让它支撑我到更远的地方去。这个过程中，我既要保持身体平衡不断行进，又要确保安静，不发出一丝声响。很快我看到了地下的饮料箱，我让身体慢慢贴在床上，再伸出手臂去拿饮料。
我记得很清楚，那是一瓶露露，我不知哪来的力量，竞凭借自己的手指扳开了拉环！当杏仁的味道沁入我的口中时，我感到了无与伦比的喜悦。我偷偷地想，我并不是他们口中那样脆弱，当我需要时，我能做到更多。前提是我在心里的确那么想了，也确实想发自内心地要把那件事做成。
次日清晨，我受到了父母的批评，他们责怪我不会保护自己，并告诉我，出了事儿，疼是旁人无法代替的。我低着头不敢顶嘴，但心里却为自己的成就自喜，从那以后我渐渐明白，别人对你的定义，永远只是一句话而已，结果怎么样，永远只能是自己心里的秘密。人生得意时如此，失意时也亦然。
这样特殊的命运便属于我了，生老病死，它都不再会离开。在写下开篇之前，在恍惚之间，我想起了很多事儿。
1760年至1840年，八十年的时间中，人类的生活翻天覆地，工业革命来了。一部分人，在机械与蒸汽之下，颂唱着幸福的赞歌，另一部分，则湮灭在旧世界的马蹄中，被所处的时代，连同尸骨一并毫不留情地吞噬。八十年啊！人的一生，也不过仅有一回这样的时段。拿微小的生命，去亟待世纪的改变，这样的愿望，最终只能成为一个笑柄吧。
人们安慰着我，告诉我生物革命即将来临，它将治愈一切关于死亡的病症，并让一切不治之症灰飞烟灭，它能让命运在原地转个大圈。可我却不敢等下去，我怕那是一条不归的长路。在这美好的心愿之后，我只能小心地活着，感激我这残破的身子，我仅有的苦与乐，都是它给的，失去它，我便一无所有。我不敢憎恨、抱怨、哭泣，我只想走出命运的牢狱！
