典型现象的捕捉
现象一：爱吃手
几乎令所有妈妈都头痛的问题，就是宝宝爱吃手，宝宝在几个月大的时候就喜欢把自己的手指放进嘴里，然后津津有味地“吃”起来，拿出来他又会放进去，如果你斥责他，他就会变得很生气甚至哭闹。
妈妈们最担心的就是卫生问题，同时认为这是种坏习惯，总是试图矫正，但是往往收效甚微。
现象二：什么都往嘴里放
1岁左右的宝宝非常让家长头疼，因为他们看到什么都要捡起来，然后毫不犹豫地放到嘴里尝一尝。不管是在家里还是在户外，只要是他能拿得起来的东西他都要往嘴里放。在家里还好，爸爸妈妈可以给宝宝随时洗手，给所有的玩具消毒，但是到了外面就没办法控制了，宝宝一会儿在地上玩土，一会儿又捡起石子放进嘴里，搞得很多妈妈都不知道怎么办才好。
现象三：尝过之后吐出来
家长都不愿意宝宝去吃那些不能吃或者太大不容易咀嚼和消化的东西，可是你的宝宝却不管这一套，拿起就往嘴里搁，胆小的妈妈生怕卡到宝宝，可是他往往嚼两下又自己吐了出来。
比如，有一次，你的宝宝抓到了一个带皮的橘子瓣，然后就放到了嘴里。你担心他会把整个橘子瓣和皮都吞进去，可是让你感到惊讶的是，宝宝居然把橘子皮吐了出来，把果肉咽了进去。
你终于真的明白了那句名言：孩子最初就是用口来感知世界的。

蒙氏理论解析
通常，宝宝的口腔敏感期会集中在从出生到2岁这个阶段。孩子口腔敏感期持续时间的长短与他们所处的环境有很大的关系。如果在这一时期，父母能给宝宝提供科学的环境，允许他去“吃”各种各样的东西的话，换句话说，也就是允许孩子用口去探索周围的环境、物品，孩子的敏感期就会很快过去。
相反，如果父母不了解这一敏感期，阻碍孩子用口去探索事物的行为，孩子的这一敏感期就会持续很长时间，可能到了三四岁，他还会偷偷地把东西放到嘴里“尝尝”。父母如果不允许孩子用口去探索，孩子自身与外部的世界就很难建立联系，这将在很大程度上影响孩子发展自己的潜能。要知道，连“软”与“硬”这样的抽象概念，孩子都是用口来“尝”出来的。
1.用嘴巴尝味道
当孩子口渴时，他常常会拒绝喝水，要求父母拿酸奶、果汁等饮料。
即使是刚出生不久的孩子也是这样，当他喝过带甜味的奶粉之后，就不再喝没有甜味的普通奶粉了。为什么会这样呢？其实，这是因为孩子的口和舌生来就有品尝味道的功能。当他尝到了“好吃的”、“好喝的”，自然就不愿意去吃、喝“普通的”了。
现象四中的例子表明，孩子喜欢用口来做对比，他喜欢打开所有的食品包装，吃一口就不吃了，再吃一口别的。其实，这并不是孩子任性，而是孩子用口来体验并认识巧克力的味道，他通过了解外在的东西，构建内在的自我，只是父母并不了解这一点。所以，当父母以各种有道理的理由拒绝孩子这么做时，孩子的内心就会不断地挣扎，甚至以哭闹的方式来反抗父母。
2.用嘴巴来认识世界
父母要知道一点，孩子用嘴巴来品尝味道和用口来认识世界是两个不同的概念，他会用口去认识各种事物，包括自己的手与脚。
触觉是宝宝认识世界的主要手段，而嘴唇和手是触觉最灵敏的地方。
对于一个3个月大的宝宝来说，口的功能是巨大的，首先，通过吸吮感知手的存在，感知手的抓握功能，当宝宝知道自己的小手能抓握东西之后，就会通过手把周围抓到的物品都送进嘴里进行“检验”，这个过程也完成和健全了口腔的功能。宝宝用口腔来认识世界，直到手被完全唤醒，手的敏感期到来，又帮助和加快了口腔敏感期的发展，宝宝就这样用嘴打开世界的大门，用嘴和这个世界建立着亲密的关系，当宝宝开始尝试用口和手进行探知时，他的世界就开始了……
