在编辑本书的过程中，我运用本书提供的技巧对这段时期的梦进行了解析，并进行了积极想象。记得在某一个梦中，我梦到了一条大蟒蛇，它缠住我的头部，我很可能窒息而死。而梦中的我告诉自己，专注于自己的呼吸，深呼吸，一、二、三，缓慢而悠长地呼吸，它一定会慢慢游走。果然，大蟒蛇游走了。对这个梦的解释让我知道，在外在现实生活中，无论遇到什么事，只要我专注于呼吸（将能量保持在当下），再大的难关都可以挺得过去。
另外，我按照书中的方法进行积极想象，结果惊人地发现我内在住着各种各样的“人物”！他们有的理想高远，有的目光短浅；有的不切实际，只关注形而上的实际，有的有的只关注食物、睡眠以及感官享受；有的人物胸花对人类和对宇宙的慈悲，有的却满怀怨毒！当我一个接一个和他们对话，才慢慢了解，自己的内在世界是多么的丰富，冲突又是多么激烈！内在人物往往以成对的方式出现，如果有一个品德极高尚的人物，那么一定暗藏着一个“卑下”人物，这是无意识对意识的纠偏功能。无论哪一个内在人物，都需要被我看到，他们之间需要和解，他们都可以自己的个性化进程做出贡献。
