Book Abstract

在做这个游戏时，咨询师问年幼的来访者“你有什么优点”（同时记下来访者的回答），并在每次回答后说“谢谢你”和微笑。如果来访者回答“我不知道”，在第一次时就把它当做一个回答记下来；但是如果“我不知道”（或其他答案）第二次出现，咨询师要以轻松和可能有些幽默或打趣的口吻提醒来访者，这个答案只能用一次。
“你有什么优点”的游戏能让人洞察来访者的自我知觉和自尊。例如，有些年幼的来访者难以清晰地表达一种才能、技巧或积极的个人特点，他们有时会回答自己拥有什么，如“我有一辆很棒自行车”或“我有一些好朋友”，而不是指出个人的某种特性——“我善于骑自行车”或“我友好的性格让我有许多朋友”。类似地，他们可能会描述他们的一种角色（例如，“我是好个儿子”），而不是指出那些促使他们在这些角色中表现良好的个人特点（如，“我对父母很体贴，所以我是个好儿子”）。显然，清晰表达自己的积极个人特点的能力很可能预示着更完善的自尊。
