在培训期间，詹尼尔喜欢稍微做一些出乎意料的举动。当他的客户到场后，他会常常放一点音乐——而这种音乐的风格是谁也想不到的。比如：《嘿！朱迪》这些煽动性很强的摇滚歌谣，使会场上人们的情绪高昂到几乎一触即发的程度，他们或争吵或喊叫或大发雷霆。他先煞费苦心地点燃他们的情绪，再去引导和控制他们的情绪，因为培训中必要的是激情和趣味，但是激情和趣味如果不被冷静的思维和逻辑收敛的话，这种活动很难具有回味的品质。詹尼尔在工作的时候，尤其当别人注视他的时候，总是目光炯炯。他总是不断地修改并更新他的培训材料以保持每次培训内容的新颖。
詹尼尔总是将那些办完培训班后的账单发票遗忘在办公桌角落里。“很明显我工作的目的并不是为了钱，否则的话，我一定会尽力提起精神来做完这些事，然后我就可以得到报酬了。”詹尼尔不喜欢推销自己，也不愿“在路上大叫大喊以吸引别人的注意力”。幸运的是他的大多数客户都是老客户，或者都是那些对他满意的新客户介绍而来的。

詹尼尔在其职业生涯中经历过很多次挫折。他在一所小的工程专科院校上的大学，并获得了采矿学学位。他知道自己的坐标选错了位置，“就像一条鱼误入了花生酱中”。
