Author Description

李建民，1980年代始就读台湾大学前后十五年，获历史学博士学位。曾任哈佛燕京学社访问学者(1998)、东京大学大学院人文社会系研究科客座副教授(2002－2003)，并执教于台湾清华大学与台北大学。现任职于台湾中研院历史语言研究所。李建民的研究主要致力于中国“古典医学”的重建与反思，代表作品有《死生之域》及相关论文五十余篇，逾一百五十万言。曾受邀参与《剑桥中国史》的撰写工作，并主编“养生方剂丛书”，推动中国传统医学史的研究。

第一章中国医学史研究的新视野

先秦的医学知识主要是保留在官府。《汉志·方技略》说得很清楚，“方技者，皆生生之具，王官之一守也。”当时官府的医学活动，在《左传》、《周礼》等书略有反映①。其中，《周礼》疾医有治疗不愈而死亡的记录性档案②。但医学典籍大致是战国以下民间私学的产物。具体表现于长桑君、扁鹊与淳于意师徒的知识传授过程。这个时期最值得注意的概念是“禁方”或“禁方书”。
禁有秘密的意思，而且带有咒术的色彩。就医学知识的传授而言，师徒之间并没有亲自传授经验而是传授秘书。长桑君为此观察扁鹊长达十数年，私下与他谈话：“我有禁方，年老，欲传与公，公毋泄。”扁鹊日：“敬诺。”于是，长桑君将所藏的禁方书给扁鹊，之后便消失不见③。这里特别值得注意的是书籍在知识传授过程的核心角色，以及受书仪式中“毋泄”的禁令。
以授予“禁方书”的知识传授形态也见于淳于意师徒之间。淳于意习医主要受业于公孙光与阳庆二人。公孙光保存有“古传方”，也就是古代的医学文本。淳于意“受方，化阴阳，及传语法”，大概除了接受公孙光的医方书以外，淳于意还亲炙其口传的经验方术。公孙光告诫淳于意：“是吾年少所受妙方也，悉与公，毋以教人。”淳于意回答：“得见事侍公前，悉得禁方，幸甚。意死不敢妄传人。”
