Book Abstract

iOS作为新一代智能手机平台的鼻祖,强调直接的交互操作,鼓励设计师们使用隐喻和拟物化的设计手法,在图标和界面上使用高质感的特性,以此给用户带来了全新的体验。Android在全平台的统一上做了很多努力,每一版的设计都在追求系统操作的流畅性、界面的简洁性,并且在视觉上进一步突出了与其他平台的差异。Windows Phone则独辟蹊径地用了Metro的视觉风格,配以简洁、流畅的用户界面,给用户留下了深刻的印象。以至于Windows Phone在没有推出手机时,已经让用户充分了解了其特点,让用户能清楚地知道什么是Windows Phone手机。
各个系统在版本更新和演进的过程中,也在相互借鉴其他系统的设计优点,因此系统之间也会趋于融合。但是为了使一个操作系统区别于其他系统,几大系统背后的公司都花了很多心思来增强各自的差异性,而且针对UI规范上的差异又是最具直觉、有效的。很明显,各个系统的基本UI规范也都是为了更好地让设计师们遵循系统本身的特性来开发。这不是单纯移动设计原则,并且有很多规范对设计进行了限制,这也由各个公司的商业目的来决定。
因此,在进行跨平台应用开发时,更需要注意研究每个平台的设计原则,并挖掘应用的典型交互和视觉特征,尽可能地保留能传达应用品牌的设计特征,使应用在符合各个平台的基本操作特征的基础上,将应用的品牌形
象传递给用户。
移动设计八原则
近几年,交互设计专业也有了蓬勃发展,Alan Cooper、Donald Norman等人为交互设计提供了许多理论上的支持,Ben Shneiderman提出的交互设计"黄金八法"和Nielsen的"启发式评估10条原则"为交互设计的评估提供了标准,所有这些理论和原则在移动应用的设计上依然是通用的。但移动应用有其特殊性,在设备和情景上都与普通的设计不同。因此,我们在考虑其他原则的基础上,整理了八条移动应用设计的针对性原则。
内容优先
对于手机而言,屏幕空间资源显得非常珍贵。为了提升屏幕空间的利用率,界面布局应以内容为核心,而提供符合用户期望的内容是移动应用获得成功的关键。如何设计和组织内容,使用户能快速理解移动应用所提供的内容,使内容真正有意义,这是非常重要的。

序一
或许是春天的到来,万物兴盛,身边的同学们个个都总结了一下过去一段时间在自己专业领域里所沉淀下来的经验和想法。这本书也是无明和他团队里的同学们在忙碌的工作中一点一滴攒下来,然后以系统的方式整理出来的结果。花了很长的时间,好不容易腾出了一点空,以读闲书的心情仔细地看了一遍书稿,第一印象觉得这本书好像没那么偏重实物操作和技术,反而有那么一点高度。静下心来思考了一番,呀!这会不会是我从微软搬回亚洲,从而给这个团队带来的一些影响——不再是天天接需求埋首干业务,而是随时关注交互设计的正确观念和整体交互模型的观点。
夜深了,心里倒还有些许悸动,还是有些同学听了入耳,进而付诸于行动,把许多关于交互设计的想法都融了进这本书。前年刚搬到杭州,下了番功夫,观察了一淘UX的同学们生活中的点点滴滴,也和小区里打工的年轻朋友们泡了一段时间的网吧,非常直觉地认为,做设计的同学们急切需要的是更多更丰富的好的工具和技巧,才能使淘宝产品覆盖到除了中产阶级以外的一些用户。渐渐地,在每天工作里仔细聆听了每个人对设计工作的感想以及所提出的问题,越发觉得每位同学都是聪明绝顶,对于外来事物的接受度也非常高。但是(注意,这但是来了……)很多深入产品制作的同学常常忽略掉了理论上和细节上的东西,把产品做得非常自我,可是市场的接受度却七上八下没个准。最后的结论是,同学们对自己产品的用户以及他们的心理模型和行为特质了解得还不够全面。
所以从今年以来,我的首要工作方向是帮助一些同学们加深理论的吸收,同时明确基于理论而来的设计方向。例如这本书中提到的流畅度,这个流畅度可能在桌机世界中不会成为不是太大的阻碍,大家都知道自己的电脑性能,慢了卡了,忍一下就过了,趁闲还可以喝口茶。但是换了一个场景,当你在公交上颠簸时读着一本自己心仪的小说,但是因为自己的大拇指短,连翻页都无法一次翻过去的时候,爽度立刻就下降了许多,用户无法达到流畅翻页的期望。可是,既然我们谈交互,在如此小的触屏条件下,如何让用户在期盼阅读下一页内容时能快速地达成动作目标(翻一页),又能在这个翻页的动作上展现这个阅读器是足够人性化的知道你要做的事,而不是用机械化地用i++蒙混过关?这中间的细节,牵扯到了很多交互设计与心理学和行为学接轨的地方。要实现用户利用机械操作目标的期望,提高设备执行的流畅度和灵敏度,提高产品人格特质在用户期望中留下的印象,等等。 这些看似琐碎的细节常常被急于赚钱或是圈市场占有率的产品团队所忽略。我想大家对Path那几颗弹出来的小豆豆还记忆犹新,那几颗小豆豆弹跳速度的曲线,我想是设计团队经过长时间的测试和模拟所调校出来的、最令人心动愉悦的结果。同样的交互行为转到其他的设计团队,大家会不会花心思花时间去研究这么点小事呢?
我期望这本书里提到的每一个细节,都能为在中国交互设计领域里奋斗的同学们铺下一些足够深入研究的主题,进而在自己每天的工作里,实践得淋漓尽致,让每个APP都有自己的个性,并在用户心里找到一个位置。
