不要只看現實就感到灰心

我很小就離家了。
一切都是因為貧窮，當時我到處輾轉租房子。

在那個時代不是只有我這樣，那時代餓著肚子、為了填滿肚子而離家的人都經歷過，這是很理所當然的事。

從清晨開始就要送報紙、白天在工地當工人，如此度過每一天。
雖然會挨餓、很困難，但還是有希望。
茫然地期待著好像可以好好做些什麼、似乎可以成功。
並不是因為相信神，而是確信我自己可以好好地做。

有一天上高中的妹妹要繳學費跟我要錢，但是我卻沒錢。
在當時就算工作了，但像我們這樣的勞工，是不會準時拿到薪水的。我環顧周圍，卻發現沒有能借錢的地方。

我到附近的親戚家說明我的原委。
「弟弟，我是有錢，可是親戚間不能有金錢的往來，否則會很奇怪。」我年紀雖小，但也知道這話是什麼意思。

「我知道了，哥哥。」
我抬起頭看著他的臉。
然後我想起了爸爸說過的話，「如果我一無所有，連兄弟也會瞧不起我，這就是人生。」
我來找連親哥哥都不是的親戚借錢，真是傻瓜。

我坐巴士回來的路上，內心彷彿下起了傾盆大雨。

這是人生中第一次借錢，而我已經下定決心一輩子都不要借錢！
回到家裡的我不知道喝掉了幾瓶啤酒。

隔天我雖然去了工地工作，但內心太沉重了，中午也沒有胃口吃午餐，只是喝著酒。
「幹嘛大白天開始喝成那樣呢？」
我抬起頭一看，原來是老闆在問我。

「你對我不滿嗎？幹嘛凶神惡煞似地看我？」
「因為你說話，所以我才看你啊！」
「喂！你有什麼事就說說看啊！說說看幹嘛白天就當個酒鬼呢？不要光喝悶酒嘛。」
「我講的話你會聽嗎？」
「你要講才知道我會不會聽啊！你不講哪知道？」

我講了昨天發生的事。
「喂！你這傢伙！要告訴我啊！你下班後我讓你預支！」
「預支？」
「我會先給你工作的薪水啦！這傢伙！」
我到那時為止都不知道預支是什麼。那時我下定了決心，
不要成為預支的人生！也不要借錢！

從此之後我不再預支，我沒說過要借錢。

那位老闆如果現在還活著的話，應該超過九十歲了，不知道他現在是否還在世上，我很感謝他。

人生雖然痛苦又辛苦，但在世上有很多這樣的人，所以還是值得我們活下去。
看看現在自己所處的環境，會發現很多讓我們不得不灰心的狀況。
然而，在我們意想不到之處，一定會有解決之道。

我相信「天無絕人之路」這句話。
所以人不能死，應該要活下去才對。
