我想去游泳，但時間接近四點，弟弟快要放學了，
雖然他有鑰匙可以自己開門，但我想等到他回家再出門。

他進門了，還是一如往常的沒有表情。
我走到他的房門口問候他，問他要不要吃點或喝點什麼，雖然他通常都是沒有表情地說不要。
今天，我才開口說「你要不要……」，連什麼東西都還没說呢，他就用「不要」打斷我。
我有點嚇了一跳，自己退到客廳，拿起游泳的包包往外面走，然後一顆眼淚就刷地掉了出來。

我邊走邊用袖子擦乾眼淚，但心裡沒有悲傷。
是我自己大驚小怪，不必怪孩子，後來才發現眼淚跟自己的月經症候群有關。

當我被嚇了一跳、退出他的房間的當下，我就感覺到，他知道自己今天過頭了。
有時候父母的沉默不語，不代表放任孩子不管。

昨天，又是相同的場景，他按門鈴，我開門先跟他問好。
「有玉米湯要不要喝？」我問得很快，讓他沒機會打斷我。
他喜歡喝玉米湯，剛好中午有剩，於是端了一碗進到他的房間，
當我放下湯碗時，聽到他小小聲地說了「謝謝」。
雖然很小聲，但我知道那是真心誠意的謝謝。

今天，我去開門時，貓咪也從睡夢中跑出來迎接他。
但他還是一視同仁，沒跟貓咪，也沒跟媽咪打招呼，面無表情地走進房間。
我悻悻然地對著貓咪說：「哥哥都沒有叫你一聲啊，哥哥也沒叫我，你不要傷心哦。」

我換了個髮型，孩子很不習慣。
過了一星期，弟弟坐在我身邊，拉拉我的頭髮，慎重宣布：
「你不是我媽媽，除非你將頭髮變回原來的樣子。或是過一年後，我才能習慣，再認你是我媽媽。」

說了這麼多，他的重點是最後一句：
「所以從現在開始，你說什麼，我都不聽你的了。」

「媽媽，我肚子餓，想吃漢堡。」弟弟說。
「不要吧，等一下上飛機就有三明治了。」
我們母子女三人正朝著香港飛台灣的登機門前進。

「媽媽我肚子餓。」弟弟又喊了一次。
「等會兒媽媽的份也給你，讓你吃兩個。」

三明治來了，我二話不說遞給左手邊的弟弟，他大方地接下。
等他吃完自己的，從紙袋裡拿出第二個時，卻遞來給我，要我先吃幾口再給他。
這是禮貌和關懷，真是好孩子。我意思意思地咬了一小口。

「媽媽，我還餓。」姊姊吃完了自己的，看弟弟有兩個，抗議了起來。

「我的已經先給他了。你跟空中小姐再要一個吧。」其實我是隨口開玩笑的。
小孩的臉皮那麼薄，哪敢開口呢。因為連我自己都是寧願餓死，也不敢說還要一個。

當姊姊跟路過的空姐開口時，我好驚訝。
當姊姊正在吃第二個三明治時，我很興奮，樂呼呼地貼在她的旁邊竊竊私語：
「你等會兒，可不可以再要一個，說你還是吃不飽，看她會不會再給你。」
因為你媽媽還沒吃。

哼，結果我只吃到了一個姊姊的白眼。

如果我的肚子很餓，不會把自己的三明治給孩子。
孩子知道當媽媽說要將自己的讓給他時，我就是不太餓。

「完全的了解，完全的不多禮，完全的不勉強。」我喜歡這樣的親子關係。
弟弟吃到最後一口三明治時，我說要，
他卻以迅雷不及掩耳的速度送進了自己的嘴裡，然後笑得好開心。
「整媽媽當樂趣」是我們之間的生活樂趣。
