前言

射频识别（radio frequency identification，RFID）技术可以通过电磁波自动识别标签（tag）内存储的信息。RFID 标签由一个天线和一个芯片构成，可以接收与发送数据。

RFID技术呈现出取代条码的趋势，随着贸易的增长，该技术为贸易带来了新的交易方式。实际上，在很长时期内条码技术都被认为提供了高效数据编码，但目前却面临一些局限性。例如，使用的光学读写器（扫描器）必须与被识别的物体十分靠近。另外，条码存储数据信息的容量太小。

RFID技术通常由三个基本部件构成，即RFID芯片、天线和读写器。标签放置在需要识别的物品或人的身上，标签芯片上存有数据，可以由读写器通过标签天线进行获取，并经过服务器进行解密。RFID技术采用的射频频率一般在50kHz~2.5GHz的范围。

因此，有必要将条码与RFID做一下对比，来解释为什么说RFID可以取代条码，并且RFID也还有一些局限性。首先，二者的读取模式不同。条码的读取利用的是激光，而读写器通过扫描RFID标签，借助于电磁波识别标签内部存储的数据。RFID标签可以获得更高的阅读距离，实际上，RFID的阅读距离可以达到几厘米到200m的阅读范围。其次，RFID标签可以比条码存储更多信息，数据的获取速率可以达到几KBps。更为重要的是，RFID标签能够循环使用，这主要是因为可以将新的信息写入标签。RFID技术应用的一个主要缺点是其成本太高，成本因素会延缓RFID技术的推广。另外，RFID标签也容易受到信号干扰。

RFID技术依然是大众十分关注的话题，它不仅能够解决条码遇到的问题，还是经济与贸易十分重要的因素，如物流的供应与运输。RFID技术的应用可以引起医药行业的变革，在健康领域凭借巨大的优势可以使每个人从中受益。实际上，谁不想从高质量的看护中受益，谁会想成为医疗事故的受害者？将智能标签（smart tags）应用于医疗产品，可以确保医疗产品的真实性，防止假冒。在献血中使用RFID可以极大地减少可能出现混乱的风险。医疗团队可以无误地认证血样的来源，保证输血安全。
