张蕙兰，（瑜伽名字是外史那瓦·达西）在三十多年前，就已经开始把瑜伽的赠予传递给别人了。当她只有17岁时，就开始认真探讨和习练瑜伽。在接受了柏忠言先生的启发与严格专门训练及其他瑜伽前辈们的指点后，蕙兰开始在全国各地免费地传授瑜伽课程，深切渴望能为中国人民服务，她知道把瑜伽带给中国人就是她此生的目的。
在了解到电视传媒对瑜伽推广的重要性后，蕙兰便开始着手一项艰巨的工作——制作世界一流的瑜伽电视系列节目。1985年通过中央电视台，张蕙兰和瑜伽走人了千家万户，深入成万上亿人的心中，瑜伽就此深受人民的喜爱，蕙兰也就成为中国大陆家喻户晓的传奇人物。15年来，“蕙兰瑜伽系列”从未间断地播放，并成为中国电视系列史上播放时间最久的节目之一。因此，许多人一提到张蕙兰，就会亲切地称她为当代中国的“瑜伽之母”。
在上世纪90年代，张蕙兰开始闻名于西方，因为西方人注意到蕙兰瑜伽那与众不同、独一无二和亲切热忱的传授方式。于是从1998年起，通过PBS电视网在全美各地播出，使她的瑜伽电视系列成了掀起美国和西方现代瑜伽热潮上的重要推手。今天，蕙兰的DVD、音乐CD、得奖的瑜伽节目，还有书籍，都受到成万上亿人的喜爱，进而使她成为当今世上最受尊敬和名气响亮的瑜伽老师之一。

柏忠言，当代造诣深厚正统的瑜伽宗师柏忠言（瑜伽名字是悉达斯瓦鲁普·阿南达）来自于包括了像罗摩奴阁、柴坦尼亚等著名的历史人物的一脉。这个历史悠久的师徒相传是从最初最有权威的薄伽梵史利克尔史那讲授瑜伽最高层次的权威文献《薄伽梵歌》开始的。柏忠言教授瑜伽超过40年。他有许多学生分布在美国、澳大利亚还有其他许多国家。
柏忠言同时还是一位艺术家，他写曲作词、灌唱CD，声韵悦耳并触人心弦、感人肺腑，同时歌词含义都是鼓励人心向善、向上，因而获得了极高的赞评。虽然柏忠言也曾是一位将生命之气提升至头顶并由此逸出的专家（即昆达利尼瑜伽）。但在四十多年前他就不再宣扬这一体系了。他遵从本宗历传师尊的先例，着重在瑜伽语音冥想、业瑜伽（即实践的、无私活动的瑜伽）和巴克悌瑜伽（爱心服务瑜伽）等方面的教导和传授。
