These are actual emails written by a young Janet Hsieh (me) who was curious, experiencing Asia and work for the first time, excited about
life, and unfiltered in sharing her thoughts and experiences.
这些都是年轻的Janet（也就是我）写的email，当时她很好奇，第一次感受亚洲、第一次工作，对生活充满激情，毫无保留地分享她的想法和经验。
10. 五个月内就干了好多大事！

Subject: Been a while... miss me much?
6 months later, I finally find the energy (i.e. I finally got off of my lazy butt 1) to update my travel journal. Here's an update on the past 5 months of my life in list form.
6个月后，我终于有力气（也就是说我终于没有偷懒）更新我的旅行日记了！这是我前5个月的生活近况，分条呈现。
10 Things to do in the life of Janet Hsieh (in 5 months or less)
1. Painfully go through the medical school application process (blah), GET INTO medical school (whoo hoo!), DECLINE medical school (what?), and then study your ass off 2
to retake the MCATs so that you can get into medical school again (don't ask 3).
2. Eat a meat pie, go to the footie, play with a kangaroo, throw a boomerang, and oh yeah, visit some friends in Australia for a week. (It only took me 4 ? days 4 to fly there... but every minute of it was worth it... including the part where I nearly got stranded
in Taipei, Hong Kong, AND Singapore because I accidentally forgot to, um, get a tourist visa.)
3. Become a professional sushi chef (the first woman chef at this bar/ restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara), work for a month, get paid in sushi.
4. Get a speeding ticket, get my car impounded, fail my driving test, and go to court to fight and (hopefully) win my court case.
5. Live in a house with 7 guys, 1 tarantula, and a life-size cardboard stand of Michael Jordan.
6. Meet Michael Jordan.
7. Break your tailbone. Okay. Fracture your tailbone... from playing basketball... by yourself... shut up.
8. Get a boyfriend.
9. Go back to college and retake all your Physics and Chemistry courses over a period of 16 weeks. Do surprisingly well.
10. Become a future Kung Fu movie star (maybe)... More details to come.

谢怡芬的人生中要做的10件事（5个月内达成）
1. 艰难地度过医学院申请过程（随便啦）、申请上医学院（万岁！）、婉拒医学院（什么？）、然后疯狂念书，重新考医学院入学考试以再次进入医学院（别问）。
2. 吃肉馅饼、去看足球比赛、和袋鼠一起玩、丢回力镖，对了，还有在澳洲拜访朋友一个星期。（飞过去只花了我4天半，但每一分钟都很值得，连我差点被困在台北、香港和新加坡的部分都很值得！都是因为我不小心忘了，嗯，办一张旅游签证。）
3. 成为一名职业的寿司师傅（成为圣塔芭芭拉市区一个酒吧或餐厅中的第一个位女师傅），工作一个月，薪水是寿司。
4. 被开超速罚单、车子被拖走、没考上驾照、到法庭去打官司、（希望）打赢官司。
5. 与7个男人、1只狼蛛、1个有着迈克尔?乔丹等比例身形的硬低板人像一起住在同一个房子里。
6. 见到迈克尔·乔丹。
7. 弄断自己的尾椎。好吧，应该说是骨折。而且是在打篮球的时候……自己打篮球的时候……闭嘴，不准笑。
8. 交男朋友。
9. 回到大学，重新上所有的物理和化学课程，只花16周。学得惊人地顺利。
10. 成为未来的功夫电影明星（只是可能）。更多细节以后再说。
