在我所有关于古巴的记忆中，有一个人让我永远铭记于心。
美西（美国和西班牙之间的一次战争）战争打响后，美军想要取得最终的胜利，必须要和古巴起义军联合起来对付西班牙军队。
而古巴起义军的首领加西亚将军却隐匿在古巴广阔的深山密林中，想与他取得联系几无可能。但战争的形势已经不允许有一丝一毫的耽搁，为了两军能够迅速结盟，美国总统必须马上和加西亚将军取得联系。
何去何从？
就这样，一位名叫罗文的人被推到了历史舞台的最前面。推荐人向总统保证：如果有一个人能够寻找到加西亚将军的话，他就是罗文。
于是，罗文成了送信人。送信的过程不再一一赘述，虽然其中的每一个细节，例如怎样拿到了信，而后把信贴胸放在油纸袋里，历时三个星期、遭遇种种险境的长途跋涉，与加西亚将军的会面，等等，都非常耐人寻味。
但这些都不是我要强调的重点，我想说的是：
罗文在接到这封信后，转身就踏上了前往古巴的征程。他没有像当下的许多年轻人一样，“理直气壮”地问一句：“加西亚在哪儿？”
每所大学里都应该树立一座像罗文一样的人的塑像。
我们在象牙塔里不光是要做学问，更重要的是学会如何做人。做一个将来能够具备职业精神、忠诚于事业、毫不犹豫地执行上级命令，并毫无保留地奉献自己全部精力的人，全心全意地去完成任务——“把信送给加西亚”。
虽然加西亚将军已不在人世，但世界上的每一个需要不懈努力才能完成的任务都可以叫做“加西亚”。在企业里尤其如此，再伟大的天才人物也无法使这样的企业生存下去——员工众多却个个尸位素餐，看似忙忙碌碌却个个平庸无能，大家的心思都没有放在工作上。
